This is exactly what the game developers who made the smash hit “Hogwarts Legacy” tried to do when the mob attempted to cancel their game simply for being associated with J.K. Rowling. Rowling is currently public enemy number one to social justice obsessed for being a transphobic “TERF,” though they continue to fail to quote one thing she’s said to prove their claim.

Even a reporter doing a deep dive into her alleged transphobia wholly changed her mind about the “Harry Potter” author and wrote about how mistaken the woke mob was in their attempts to destroy her.

Instead of standing against the mob and allowing the wild success of the game — some of which was fueled by pure spite against said mob by regular consumers — the developers at Avalanche Software decided to throw a trans character among the cast in a well-meaning but misguided attempt to show the transgender activists and their allies that they mean no harm.

They broke the first rule of dealing with a woke mob, and sure enough, the woke mob didn’t relent. In fact, they’re doing what they usually do in these situations. They smelled blood in the water and now they’re looking to swarm. MSNBC itself decided to release an op-ed claiming that the trans character doesn’t fix the game’s “transphobia.”

Why? Because the wizarding world is still a Rowling creation:

But separating the work from the creator isn’t really possible in Rowling’s case.

Rowling herself has implied that her royalty checks are indirect indicators of the popularity of her views on trans rights. She will be profiting off Hogwart’s Legacy, and at least part of that profit will likely go directly into the hands of those responsible for pushing the fight to roll back trans rights, causes Rowling has implied she donates to.

Some corrections that the author, Katelyn Burns, failed to give proper context to along with the claims.

Firstly, Rowling’s brag about her royalty checks was in response to a Twitter wokescold asking her how she can sleep at night knowing a whole audience now refuses to buy her books, to which Rowling wittily responded “I read my most recent royalty cheques and find the pain goes away pretty quickly.”

Her response didn’t carry any connotations beyond “the anger of a small group of nasty people who hate me is inconsequential.” Burns added context that wasn’t there to further solidify her own opinion and possibly change yours.

Secondly, the “fight to roll back trans rights” referred to by Burns was Rowling supporting Allison Bailey, a lesbian woman suing the Stonewall charity over being silenced about her views about biological women being the only women. Bailey had lost work and income over a disagreement with transgenderism and Rowling, a supporter of biological women and the fight to stop men from entering women’s spaces, stood up for her. Burns is attempting to position this move as rolling back trans rights when really it’s the fight for free speech for women.

Burns is omitting context because doing so allows the mob to continue its rage-filled crusade to cancel all things Rowling, including “Hogwarts Legacy.”

I can attest to the fact that the developers worked very hard on this game, having played some of it myself. Rowling had nothing to do with its development past having created the Potterverse years ago. None of this matters to the woke mob.

Just like the trans character doesn’t matter, nor does the proper context of Rowling’s actions. The mob does not care. It doesn’t know nuance. It doesn’t want understanding. It rejects the idea of real conversation. It will use any apology or capitulation as a green light to go harder.

What they want are domination and full societal obedience. They want to rule, and they don’t care whom they have to destroy and ruin to get their way. Once they’ve set their target on your back, that target remains forever. Nothing will take it off.

The best thing you can do is ignore it. Or, do as Rowling does, and every now and again poke the bear for fun.

But never, ever, give in to the woke mob.
