President Donald Trump's promised, signature legislation, the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB--cry more, Chuck), passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 218-214, on an expected party line vote (aside from the two Republicans who voted against it). The White House announced that Trump will sign the bill into law at 5:00 p.m. EST on Independence Day, July 4. Love the bill or hate it, as former VP Biden said when Barack Obama's the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) legislation passed, this is a big, effin' deal.
Probably an even bigger one. It took Nancy Pelosi over nine months to ram through Obamacare, and she had to do it in the dead of night on Christmas Eve. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) got 'er done in five months, pulled an all-nighter to make it happen, and Americans and the world were actually watching... save for that eight-plus-hour screed by Democrat Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
With Trump's court wins of late, his spearheading a still-established ceasefire between Iran and Israel, and international trade deals, the president deserves all the plaudits and praise he will be receiving over the next few days.
Like clockwork, the Democrats, the Left, and the legacy media took to X to kvetch, complain, and spin... badly.
President AutoPen, or whatever unfortunate soul manages his X profile, weighed in.
The Republican budget bill is not only reckless — it’s cruel. It slashes Medicaid and takes away health care from millions of Americans. It closes rural hospitals and cuts food assistance for our veterans and seniors. It jacks up energy bills. And it could trigger deep cuts to…
— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) July 3, 2025
And it could trigger deep cuts to Medicare while driving up the deficit by $4 trillion. All of this to give a massive tax break to billionaires.
Working people deserve better.
His "Word Salad Wanda" VP also needed to ensure you knew she is still around.
Republicans in Congress have voted to devastate millions of people across our nation — kicking Americans off their health care, shuttering hospitals, eliminating food assistance, and raising costs.

This is Project 2025 in action.

Project 2025? They really cannot let it go.
Not to be outdone by Jeffries' act of attention whoredom to delay the passage of the bill, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) decided she needed to make a video weeping in front of the Capitol after the votes were cast.
Republicans passed Trump’s Big Bad Betrayal Bill to kick 17 million Americans off their health care for a billionaire tax cut. Cruel, horrifying, and outrageous.

But we must not lose hope. Democrats will not only fight back — we’ll fight forward, press on, and justice will be… pic.twitter.com/Nfu5vUQTRE
Someone needs to do a cut of that video with Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" playing underneath.
Meanwhile, in California, The Failure King, Governor Gavin "Hair Gel" Newsom, who is being sued by the federal government, cannot seem to manage to shut his yap.
17 million people just lost health care.
— Gavin Newsom (@GavinNewsom) July 3, 2025
18 million kids just lost school meals.
3 million Americans just lost food assistance.
And $3.5 trillion was added to the deficit.
All for a tax cut for Trump’s billionaire donors.
The ultimate betrayal.
Newsom betrayed the people of California a thousand times over and has saddled them with yet another gas tax. If someone managed to channel his fauxrage and puffery into a source of energy, California wouldn't have any fuel or grid problems. Bet on it.
Speaking of royalty, the progeny of the once-revered Kennedy family and failed political wife also had thoughts. Shriver's family sexually assaulted, robbed, killed innocents, and bamboozled the American people for decades, but she's still deluded that outside of her cousin "Bobby" (HHS Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.), the name has any weight.
My, oh, my. So many of us called. So many tried to stop this, but in the end, fear and pressure got the best of them. Some dared not defy the president, others like Murkowski focused solely on their own state and not on the country. This is where we are.

So many do not know… pic.twitter.com/nLdmehdc2S
My, oh, my. So many of us called. So many tried to stop this, but in the end, fear and pressure got the best of them. Some dared not defy the president, others like Murkowski focused solely on their own state and not on the country. This is where we are. So many do not know what’s in this bill. So many don’t even realize how it will impact them in really profound ways. Detrimental ways. On the eve of our country’s birthday, we can only continue to work towards a more perfect union. One that honors and supports those who need support to live, survive, and access healthcare in a hospital or in their own home. We can be righteously angry, but we cannot give up! #abovethenoise
And it wouldn't be a Republican victory without Killary weighing in, decrying the bill as "historic theft" from the poor. The people of Haiti would like a word, Mrs. Clinton.
The Republican spending bill is a historic theft that will take from the poor to give to the already-rich.
— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) July 3, 2025
Republicans passed this knowing people will die. They know people will lose health care. They know children will go hungry.
They will own the tragic results. We can't let…
Or the histrionics of AOC, who took Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) to task for doing her job of gaining deliverables for the people of Alaska in order to get her vote for the bill.
This isn’t about you.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) July 3, 2025
This is about the 17 million Americans whose health insurance you’re taking away.
And after you turned your back on them to vote “YES”, you said your fellow House GOP should vote NO.
Americans are going to suffer. YOU admit that. And YOU supported it. https://t.co/N8oQtgPw23
Now that ICE is fully funded through the OBBB, those 17 million illegals won't need Medicaid anyway. So, cry more, Sandy.
But no hot takes piece would be complete without the average Democrat voters and organizations being polled. You can divide them into three categories:
Those for whom the sky is always falling.
#OBBBA is a big bad bill. It cuts taxes for the rich which adds $3-4 trillion to the debt. But to offset a tiny bit of the tax cuts, it will kick people off health insurance, cut natl parks, science, housing, and hasten the insolvency of Social Security. #budget2025
— Linda Bilmes (@LJBilmes) June 29, 2025
Those who peddle their BlueAnon conspiracy theories.
The only consolation: If there are still elections in the US next year, the Republicans are toast. The downside: #Trump and his Heritage handlers will now use the “border control” billions to frantically try to erect a totalitarian police state before the midterms. #OBBBA

And finally, those who find every opportunity to get their grift on.
‼️ TODAY, the Budget Reconciliation Bill passed the House and is on its way to be signed by the President.

Of course, when it comes to the grift, the Democrat Party is running out of ways to do their money laundering, but Lord knows they'll keep trying.
