Red Tsunami: The Million-Voter Shift to the Republican Party Isn't Waking up Democrats

The Democrat Party has become so ridiculous and unbearable that people aren’t just fleeing states and cities where they’re in control, they’re also fleeing the party itself.

As RedState previously reported, over the course of a year, over 1 million people have switched their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican, further cementing a massive oncoming defeat for the left in the coming midterm elections.

The news gets really bad for Democrats when you see who’s been switching, in particular, according to the Associated Press:

More than 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party over the last year, according to voter registration data analyzed by The Associated Press. The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country — Democratic and Republican states along with cities and small towns — in the period since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.

But nowhere is the shift more pronounced — and dangerous for Democrats — than in the suburbs, where well-educated swing voters who turned against Trump’s Republican Party in recent years appear to be swinging back. Over the last year, far more people are switching to the GOP across suburban counties from Denver to Atlanta and Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Republicans also gained ground in counties around medium-size cities such as Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Raleigh, North Carolina; Augusta, Georgia; and Des Moines, Iowa.

This nation’s voting map is going to get a lot redder.

I’d say the left shouldn’t be too surprised by this outcome, but introspection hasn’t exactly been their forte as of late. The gubernatorial election in Virginia was a solid clue that what the left has been up to has been pushing people away in great numbers. This especially applied to the parents of America, who have not taken very well to the forced indoctrination of their children, as well as Democrats attempting to send the DOJ after those who spoke against leftist school boards.

America is a center-right country at the end of the day, and while it may have leftist leanings here and there, what it doesn’t have in great abundance is radical leftist leanings. Even Roe v Wade’s collapse isn’t going to create shockwaves throughout the nation in the way that Democrats would hope. Most people actually don’t approve of elective abortions after the first trimester and subsequently become less enthused about it as the baby gestates further by a vast majority.

It doesn’t help that leftists are continuing to act like lunatics, giving people less of a reason to listen to their perspectives on things.

Regardless, Democrats losing Virginia should have been a very good reason to pump the brakes and possibly plot a new course, but the left’s reaction was to do what it’s been doing for some time, which is to get more radical. I’m not entirely sure why they believe this is a winning strategy, but they’ve doubled and tripled down on it.

But hey, if they want to screw themselves out of power, far be it from me to try to stop them. My only issue is that they’ve still got control of the big stages, forcing some of the more gullible and easily influenced into believing that the left is truly the ideology that most people get on board with, forcing people (especially the young) into beliefs and lifestyles that are actually harmful to themselves and their families.

But, that said, no one convinces anyone to be a conservative quite like a leftist, and leftists have clearly convinced well over a million people to leave them. If this trend continues and they don’t change course, they may become weak enough to be replaced as a party with something else.
