The Scott Pelley saga has mercifully come to a close, as the vaunted newsman went out in a blaze of self-glorifying martyrdom. As a swan song of sorts, Pelley sat in with Lulu Garcia Navarro of The New York Times, and he was at his insufferable best. Among the golden nuggets of wisdom he dropped:
Being fired from “60 Minutes” was like seeing his spouse murdered.
Unlike President Trump, Pelley had been in combat.
He compared news program offices to barracks in the military
Bari Weiss tried to force him to say Renée Goode had tried to strike the ICE officer with her vehicle, seemingly ignorant that there is body-cam footage of him being struck.
Said he saw no proof of the public losing faith in the press, despite years of polling showing this to be the case.
His histrionics and melodramatics were on full display in this performance, including getting choked up on behalf of his coworkers.
We then look at the way Senate candidate Graham Platner is being covered as he went on to win the Democratic primary in Maine. We are told this is a significant rebuke of all the attempted character hits on the man, despite the fact that he essentially ran unopposed. So yes, the media continues backing this mess of a man. And in the Los Angeles mayoral election, the usual extended counting process has led to the usual questionable returns, and has inspired the usual media apathy.
Now, crack one open and savor some outmoded media malpractice and misinformation.

Here is the full transcript of Pelley’s dramatic performance with Lulu Garcia-Navarro.
Pelley is weeping not for himself, but for his co-workers.
Here is when he tries to steal valor.
Scott does not believe there is evidence of the public losing faith in the press. To help the journalist, here is just one polling result.
The “Today Show” soft-peddled Platner’s biggest issue with a report that he has “a tattoo some say resembles a Nazi symbol.”
On “Morning Joe,” Scar-Joe also tried smoothing over all of Platner’s controversies, calling them “so-called scandals,” and dismissing the guy’s numerous problems as a result of suffering from PTSD.
Lyndsey Fifield tells The Free Press how the NY Times subverted her expose of Graham Platner.
Following the usual weeks needed to count votes in California, the press harbors no curiosity in some of the data anomalies transpiring in the counting.
It was more than “gained ground”. She experienced a freakish one day spike while no one else made any gains, but she trended equally all other days.
