Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) had a bit of explaining to do after he was caught looking at lewd photos on a recent airline flight, and let's just say his explanation was less than sufficient.
Ironically, it was a left-wing account that brought this to light because Sherman is seen as not radical enough on Israel, despite having pushed pro-Palestinian policies. Punchbowl News reporter John Bresnahan then interviewed the Democrat about the incident.

Note: Despite the claim below, the following pictures are not what I'd describe as pornography. They are of scantily-clad women, though.
I just did a 13-minute interview with Sherman regarding this @dearwhitestaff post https://t.co/M3vzIM01pS

Hilariously, Sherman blamed Elon Musk for the incident, claiming the various pictures just randomly popped up in his "For You" tab on X.
3/ Sherman: “This was on Twitter. These pictures came up on ‘For You.’”

“I must’ve looked at more than 1000 posts” during his flight, Sherman said.
5/ Q. “Do you have a problem with pornography?”
— John Bresnahan (@bresreports) November 15, 2025
Sherman: “No, I don’t have a problem.”
Sherman said “It’s all about the algorithms,” and asserted these pictures came up in his feed “because of the algorithms.”
Was this just a result of the "algorithms?" Sure, that's not only a possibility. That's a probable, but that doesn't really end this discussion because of how the algorithms work.
For example, when I go to my "For You" tab on X, I get a mix of right-wing and left-wing political posts. Why? Because those are the types of posts I interact with. I'm typically either reposting a conservative saying something I agree with, or I'm reposting a left-winger to express my disagreement with them, either through serious critique or snark. You know what I never see on my "For You" tab, though? Any accounts run by scantily-clad women trying to get me to go subscribe to their OnlyFans garbage. That's because I never seek out or interact with those types of posts.
So yeah, Sherman can blame the algorithm all he wants, but that algorithm is influenced by his browsing history and interaction history on X. If you spend your time bashing Democrat politicians in their replies, it will feed you more posts from Democrat politicians. If you spend your time interacting with "other" types of accounts, it's going to feed you more of that. Everything is about driving interaction and engagement.
By the end of the interview, Bresnahan had Sherman doing some heavy qualifying of his denials.
7/ Sherman: “If you have to fly across the country, you look at a lot of stuff on your tablet.”

Is any of this surprising? Of course, not. Sherman fits the creepy old man mold to a tee, down to his gaping mouth in those pictures as he browsed. If Washington is one thing, it's a breeding ground for moral decay.
