According to Fox News’ Chad Pergram, the third-floor rotunda was hastily cleared with Capitol Police shouting at people to get down the stairs while they had their rifles at the ready.
The official U.S. Capitol Police X (formerly Twitter) account has been giving instructions.
If you are inside the Senate Buildings, everyone inside should be sheltering in place as the report was for a possible active shooter. It should be noted that we do not have any confirmed reports of gunshots.

The latest reports say no shots have been fired, though, which may mean this is a false alarm or hoax call.

It’s simply too early to draw any conclusions as to what exactly is going on. RedState will follow this story and update you as necessary.
UPDATE: It does appear to be a hoax call that set off all the chaos.
.@DCPoliceDept tells me there is NO active shooter on Capitol Hill.
Source tells me “A call came in for an active shooter. It appears to be a bad call. No injuries and no shooter were located. MPD is assisting US Capitol Police.”
