The poll is closed, and the results are in: 50 percent of voters disapprove of Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman’s job performance. Unfortunately, the poll here is not for an election; instead, it’s the findings of a Quinnipiac University Pennsylvania Poll released Thursday. Only 39 percent of respondents approve of how Fetterman is handling his job, with 10 percent not offering an opinion.
Not surprisingly, his ratings were much higher among Democrats than they were among Republicans and Independents. Seventy-nine percent of Dems approved of Fetterman’s job performance, while only eight percent of Republicans and 31 percent of independents viewed him favorably. Men were more likely to give him the thumbs down (58 percent disapproval), while women were less critical (43 percent).
The other senator from the Keystone State, Democrat Bob Casey, did much better, earning a positive approval rating of 44 percent, with 32 percent disapproving and 24 percent offering no opinion.

The poll surveyed 1,584 registered Pennsylvania voters between June 22 and June 26. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
As RedState has reported extensively, the 6’ 8” tall Fetterman struggled on the campaign trail in his race against Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz after he suffered a massive stroke in 2022. His auditory processing skills were harmed as a result of the stroke, and he seemed not to understand some queries and would incoherently mumble his responses. In their lone debate, Fetterman had to use a 70-inch television with a closed captioning system to help him decipher the questions he was asked. He later blamed his troubling performance on glitches with the system, a charge the network vehemently denied.
The media, as is par for the course, downplayed his issues, and he eventually prevailed in his matchup against Oz. His troubles did not stop there, however, as barely a month into his first term, he checked himself into Walter Reed Army Medical Center in February for treatment of clinical depression.
Fetterman returned to work in mid-April, arriving at the Capitol in a hoodie and gym shorts. Since then, he has made a number of concerning appearances and is clearly still suffering from cognitive issues. His staff is apparently still hard at work, though, taking the time to blast out leftist tweets:
Today the Supreme Court upended the basic concept that diversity is our strength as a country.
Institutions of higher education are places where people of all backgrounds come to learn more about themselves and the world around them.

None of this is meant to dunk on a person who’s ill or rip him for his medical issues. Who should be ripped, however, are the folks who pushed him to run and who minimized his challenges. This man, in this condition, has no business being one of only 100 extremely powerful U.S. senators.
Speaking of cognitive challenges, the numbers weren’t kind to Joe Biden either. Pennsylvanians disapproved of the president’s job performance at a harsh 57 percent, with only 39 percent approving. The two met up earlier this month after a bridge collapse in Philadelphia, and as my colleague Bonchie reported, things quickly went off the rails. Fetterman met the president’s entourage and once again showed up in gym clothes. Both of the men made incoherent statements and garbled their words:
FETTERMAN: "[Biden] is here to commit to work with the governor and the delegadation to make sure that we get this fixed quick, fast, as well, too. This is a president that is committed to infructure, yeah, and then on top of that the jewel kind of a law of the infration." pic.twitter.com/9kBdp9MKK7

It’s concerning that two of the most powerful men in the country struggle to even make it through a sentence. I only wish Pennsylvania voters had been paying this much attention in November 2022.
