President Trump has made significant progress in expunging Woke and DEI from our country, especially in major corporations and universities.
They are malignant cancers intentionally designed to erase the American exceptionalism that has been a major characteristic of our country's 250-year history and successes.
You know, the child-raising philosophy that everyone gets a trophy. That's not to raise everyone up, but to lower everyone to the least competitive level. The stories of high schools in Virginia withholding notifications of National Merit Scholarships worth thousands of dollars to hardworking families were belatedly exposed. But the families were still just tragically out of luck.
The rationale, as you might suspect, was that the school principals did not want the underachievers to feel badly. That, of course, only serves to discourage the overachievers and holds down excellence. I've written about a few of these cases. And you can search Woke in RedState to find numerous other examples. Here's another one just this week.
So, I must admit I was somewhat stunned to learn recently of a Woke saga not only surviving but thriving well in deep-blue Maryland. The location in Prince George's County may not be surprising; that county voted 84 percent for Kamala Harris in 2024.
But the Woke decisions of the county board (100 percent Democrat) to protect a growing homeless concentration and evict a community of tax-paying families comprise a perfect example of the perverse impact that Woke inflicts on commonsense Americans. It's truly incredible.
This is what our president and his network of appointees need to expunge. (And why it's so unusually important that conservatives vote their conscience in this fall's midterm elections.)
The incredible details of the Maryland Woke nonsense and the urgent need to kill Woke is the subject of this week's audio commentary, which you can hear by clicking here:
I was struck recently — perhaps you were, too — by the sudden appearance in the legacy media of a flood of optimistic stories about Democrats running and hoping to replace Donald Trump in 2029.
Of course, we know they've spent at least a good 11 years now trying to torpedo his political career, his personality, his record, his companies' and personal finances, his reputation, his career, his presidency, and virtually every public appearance and statement that he makes.
The over-the-top negative reaction to his State of the Union address this week is a good example.
Amazingly, the man has survived all of that so far, all the while demonstrating a physical, mental, and political resilience that's been truly impressive.
So, here we are still 35 months out from the next president taking office, yet being bombarded by lengthy descriptions of numerous possible Democrats, usually heralding the wonderful potential of each of them.
None of them is in the least impressive; today's Democrat political bench is likely the weakest of any party in recent times. Weak in terms of character, leadership, and new ideas.
A recent audio commentary here dealt with one of those losers.
This week's Sunday column examined the media's premature fascination with Trump successors and analyzed some of the interesting and revealing reasons behind it. You might guess that one reason is liberals' urgent desperation to get beyond the powerful Trump era.
But there are several other reasons.
One other recent post you may have missed is the surprisingly good news of an historic housecleaning of congressional members that is coming this fall. Details are here.
