Stirring up the Trump Derangement Syndrome left is always worth doing, every day and twice on Sunday. President Trump himself seems to take great pleasure in tweaking the left, and we can scarcely blame him, since every elected and appointed official to the left of center has been screeching in rage since his first election in 2016, and has tried at every turn to thwart him. Two impeachments, three assassination attempts, and yet, there he is, still in the Oval Office.
Now, in honor of the 250th anniversary of American liberty, which the left also hates, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, who is probably the best Treasury chief America has had since Alexander Hamilton, on Tuesday, announced that the Treasury will be issuing an official commemorative one-dollar coin bearing the image of the man who was president when America turned 250 - President Donald Trump.
This really ought to make leftist heads detonate.
As America commemorates 250 years of independence, the @usmint will begin striking this new $1 gold coin to honor the enduring legacy of liberty and a lasting symbol of patriotism. Look at that image. That could be a reproduction of his second official photograph, or it could be the infamous mug shot. In either case, it's the trademarked Trump "eagle's glare."
This has been in the works for some time.

There were also plans for a $250 bill with the president's image, but that ran afoul of a law stating that American currency can't bear the likeness of a living person.
In May, the Treasury Department said it was considering issuing a $250 bill featuring Mr. Trump, but that doing so would require a change in federal law.
At a press briefing at the time, Bessent explained that no living person may appear on U.S. currency unless proposed legislation passes and changes the rules. All U.S. currency must also bear the inscription "In God We Trust."
"Only the portrait of a deceased individual may appear on United States currency and securities. The name of the individual shall be inscribed below the portrait," the U.S. Code states.
This is sure to anger the far left the most, as sure as Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) crop-dusts the Senate chamber. We await with anticipation, approaching breathless, the reaction of the loony left, which will probably be audible in the Kuiper Belt. Normally, I'm not much of a one for commemorative coins, but I'll be picking up a couple of these; I may have to find a way to make a lapel pin out of one of them. Here in the Susitna Valley, that won't provoke much comment, but elsewhere? It may be fun to watch the responses.
Annoying the left is always worth doing. In President Trump and his administration, we are treated to the spectacle of a master at work. And, honestly, if we are going to issue commemorative coins, it's only appropriate that at least one of the designs bears the image of the man who was president on the Semiquincentennial. That would apply no matter who the president was, honestly. But the fact that it's President Donald Trump is just too much fun, unless one is on the Trump Derangement Syndrome-raddled left.
Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into the "Golden Age" as Democrats try desperately to stop it.
