The investigation into the shootings at Providence, Rhode Island's Brown University are still ongoing, and from the outside, it doesn't seem like much progress is being made. On Wednesday, though, the Providence Police Department released some more grainy images of another person, who was reportedly "in the proximity" of the person of interest, of whom they have also put out grainy images. Providence PD is seeking the public's help in identifying this new mystery walker.

Providence police just moments ago released this photo here on your screen. We'll pop it up, of a second man they say was in the proximity of the person of interest in the Brown University shooting. Meaning, the video we've been showing on your screen of the alleged perp that we have him walking around, this person was seen in that one's vicinity. So they are asking for the public's help in identifying who this person is on your screen, and urging anyone with information to please call the tip line. And remember, no tip, no thought, no, anything that you have is too small to be of potential value to the FBI and to those undergoing this investigation.
The images of both the possible shooter and of this new person may as well be a still from a 1950's sasquatch sighting, but they are apparently the best that the investigators have to work with. This newest image looks to be a man, with a stocky build, and what looks like dark hair - although it could just be in the shadow of the hood.
On Tuesday, as my colleague Susie Moore informed us, there was a press briefing on the investigation that didn't really give us any answers.

Susie writes:
The biggest takeaway from the latest press conference, aside from the distinct impression that we're being treated to a modern-day version of the Keystone Cops, is that they've been able to piece together enhanced video (all from exterior cameras) of the person of interest who appears to have been casing the area prior to the shooting and are hoping someone will recognize him. We still don't know how he accessed the building, what weapon he used, whether any of the victims were targeted, what the shooter purportedly yelled during the shooting, etc. But they're working on it.
Let's hope, for the sake of the victims and the community, they're able to figure it out.
This new revelation, with its accompanying grainy, cryptid-style photo, doesn't inspire a lot of additional confidence.
Here's the official Providence Police Department X post on the matter, with the tip line number.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying and speaking to the individual shown in these photos who was in proximity of the person of interest.
