Sometimes you just can't help but laugh. For some time now, the Democratic Party's been dealing with approval ratings lower than a snake on a submarine and sinking faster than a lead brick in clear water. Their embrace of every possible policy position that at least 80 percent of the country opposes has cost them, and let's hope they never figure it out.
A new Gallup poll is in, and for Republicans as well as any Americans who aren't barking nuts (Democrats), it's giggle-inducing.
Confidence in the Democratic Party's congressional leadership has sunk to an all-time low, according to a new national poll.
The confidence rating for Democratic leadership in Congress stands at 25% in a Gallup poll conducted April 1-14 and released on Thursday. That's nine points below the previous low of 34%, which was recorded in 2023.
According to Gallup, confidence in Republican congressional leadership stands at 39%, which is well above the 24% low hit in 2014.
Fueling the drop in confidence in the Democratic congressional leadership were Democrats.
Look at that last line; that, friends, is schadenfreudelicious. If the recent tomfoolery by Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) is any indication, Congressional Democrats seem to be operating on the assumption that the best way to stall the workings of the Trump administration is to punch themselves repeatedly in the face, with predictably bad results. And the national party is doubling down on stupid by making some truly baffling picks for their party leadership.

It gets better:
"Democratic congressional leaders’ rating among their own party faithful has fallen 41 points since last year to their lowest point ever," Gallup noted in its release.
The Democratic Party is in the political wilderness, following last November's election setbacks, when Republicans won back control of the White House and the Senate, and defended their fragile House majority. And Republicans made gains among Black and Hispanic voters, as well as younger voters, all traditional members of the Democratic Party's base.
Now, a cautionary note: Republicans have, in the past, shown themselves to be adept at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. But things are different now. The Democrats are, as a party, taking on the wrong side of too many issues, ranging from illegal immigration to letting dudes cosplaying as girls to invade girls' locker rooms and showers. Congressional Democrats looked perfectly detestable at President Trump's "Totally-Not-a-State-of-the-Union" address, when the president introduced a young boy, a cancer survivor who wants to be a cop, and the Democrats sat there scowling.
It's small wonder they're about as popular as toenail fungus.
Of course, there's the other side of this; Congressional Democrats may be suffering opprobrium from Democrats because they aren't progging hard enough. That, in point of fact, may be even funnier than the notion that Congressional Democrats are hurting because they've alienated moderates, and it's also very likely, as the Democratic Party only has about six moderates left, nationwide.
I'd offer the Democrats some advice on how to extract themselves from this mess they're in, but... I don't want to.
The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
