On Tuesday, the Silt, Colorado, police department arrested Jayson Boebert, the ex-husband of Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert, at his home in Silt. Boebert faces misdemeanor charges stemming from an incident the previous Saturday night in the Miner's Claim restaurant, also in Silt.

Court filings show that Jayson Boebert, 43, faces misdemeanor charges of harassment, third-degree assault and prohibited use of weapons stemming from an alleged episode at his Silt home around 1 a.m. Tuesday. That incident did not involve the congresswoman but involved at least one of her children, based on an arrest warrant affidavit.

A warrant from the Silt Police Department also was issued for Boebert’s arrest Tuesday afternoon related to offenses Jayson Boebert allegedly committed at the Miner’s Claim Restaurant involving his ex-wife on Saturday night. Jayson Boebert faces a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of a police officer and separate petty offenses of disorderly conduct and third-degree trespass, according to court records.

Lauren Boebert first came to the public's attention due to her outspoken Second Amendment advocacy and the management of her restaurant in Rifle, Colorado, the Shooter's Grill, which featured Mrs. Boebert and the wait staff openly carrying sidearms. Her political career began after her verbal challenge to 2020 presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke, who had described his "assault weapon" confiscation plan at an event in Aurora, CO, when Mrs. Boebert shouted at him, "I am here to say: Hell no, you're not."

NEW: Lauren Boebert Calls It Quits in Her Colorado District

The Saturday Miner's Claim incident resulted from a domestic violence call by an unnamed male.

Police received a second call from a woman who identified herself as Lauren, who was overheard telling a male that “I just touched your nose,” while the male was overheard saying “she punched me in the face.

Upon arriving at the scene, police initially interviewed Lauren Boebert, who said the two were engaged in a heated exchange concerning their new partners before she “placed her finger on Jayson’s nose to end the conversation. Jayson at that point picked up his phone and called 911, stating he wanted to report domestic abuse and hung up.”

The congresswoman told police that Jayson Boebert told her, “Congratulations, your name is going to be in the headline.”

Jayson Boebert continued in this vein, according to the report, displaying a distinct lack of cooperation.

Jayson Boebert went on to say that his ex-wife punched him in the face at their former residence and the restaurant. He aso appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was uncooperative, the affidavit said.

When officers told Jayson Boebert to leave the restaurant, he replied, “I’m gonna drink some drinks before the f-ck-r closes. I’m gonna get so f-cking drunk. I don’t even wanna talk to you mother f-ck-rs.”

Lauren Boebert's Congressional terms have been lively, to say the least. On taking office she quickly established herself as a Trump ally and conservative firebrand, at first working closely with her fellow conservative Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) before their publicized falling-out. Recently Mrs. Boebert announced her move from the moderate Colorado 3rd District to the eastern plains 4th District, a reliably Republican district currently represented by Ken Buck (R-CO), who has announced his retirement at the end of the current term.
