It is simply amazing to me that one of the new leaders of the Democratic Party is a young former bartender from New York, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This once again proves that you can become anything you want in the United States of America, and if you happen to be in the right place at the right time, you could take advantage of the situation.

Let's all encourage her to do more.

The reason this is on my mind is that I came across a story over at our sister site  Hot Air and I read this: The AOC Train Wreck is Coming, and it's Going to Be Spectacular. I thought to myself, I didn't know AOC could drive a train, is there anything this woman cannot do? 

I just checked in with her last week because she is currently on a bit of a barn-burner tour with Grandpa Bernie Sanders to promote socialist values in the new era of Trump. I thought she seemed a bit mad at the rally I watched, but not while driving a train.

The left has been losing their minds, it seems, since January 20th of this year, and Trump has been hitting the gas pedal with executive orders and DOGE cuts in an attempt to fight back against the efforts of folks like Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez.

Remember, 75 million people voted for one of the most unqualified individuals (Kamala Harris) to ever run for office, let alone the top job in the nation. Now, depending on the news reports, they're getting hundreds of people or thousands and possibly tens of thousands of attendees, and I do not doubt that there are devoted people who are opposed to Donald Trump on a knee-jerk reaction level. 

Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez are taking advantage of this along with some other top Democrats and are willing to criticize leadership in their party, which is so much fun to watch.  

The overall point that she and Bernie, I believe, are trying to drive home is that the left and progressives cannot just sit and take it for four years, much like the majority of Republicans did during Biden's time in the White House. Republicans were able to take back a slim majority in the House in 2022, and even then, because the majority was so slim and they didn't have control of the Senate, they largely just sat back and watched Biden spin his wheels. That set the table for Trump getting elected in 2024 as he did.

Thankfully, I have observed AOC in times before this current tour she's doing with Bernie. I know about the stellar ideas she has professed and advocated for, and I wrote a story about why nothing matters because we don't have much time on the planet Earth anyway.

As I wrote almost three years ago — AOC Doomsday Countdown Clock Update: We Don't Have Much More Time Left on Earth — the socialist bartender could be onto something. 

The reason for this post is that the other day I was doing a radio hit and the topic came up about the Green New Deal which is something that AOC has been a huge cheerleader for since she was elected. As this massive wealth transfer boondoggle was being discussed, the subject came up about AOC’s claim a couple of years back that the Earth and every single person on this planet only had 12 years left to live.

So the thought occurred to me, where are we on the AOC Doomsday Clock calendar? If you don’t recall the comment here is a refresher…

The youngest woman ever elected to Congress again made headlines and sparked conservative criticism when she said Monday that she and other young Americans fear “the world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., made the remark during an interview with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates at the MLK Now event in New York City celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Ocasio-Cortez called the fight to mitigate the effects of climate change her generation’s “World War II.”

“Millennials and Gen Z and all these folks that come after us are looking up, and we’re like, ‘The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?’ ” she said.

She has a point.

 Why worry about paying for anything when the Earth will end soon?

Why are people concerned about the cost of something when you’re not going to be around to have to pay the bill? There is a twisted perverse logic in her thinking but she very well may be correct. Not that the Earth is going to end in 12 years or less, but in her statement about who cares about who’s going to pay for it. In fact, with the Biden administration’s latest budget, it’s pretty clear that they are also employing a “Who cares who is going to pay for any of this?” mentality.

According to the USA Today article, Cortez made her declaration that the world was cooked within 12 years on January 22, 2019. Now, I’m sure that she is not only a fabulous congressperson — she might also be somewhat of a Mystic and thus tuned in to Mother Earth and nature like no other elected official. If you just listen to her you would know this. Duh.

So, being I take what AOC said very seriously because she is much smarter than I, or quite frankly anyone else currently converting oxygen to carbon, we currently have only 3,219 days left on this big blue marble we call Earth.

That equals 8.8 years which is barely even two more Presidential election cycles.

So here is the good or bad news, depending on what side of the fence you're sitting on. We only have 2,127 days left, or just 5.8 years.

Yet, to AOC and the people who believe this, as she does, it's 12 years or less, so this is not a guarantee of the amount of time we have. It probably will be less because Donald Trump and his team are hitting the ground so hard and moving so fast, it has to be speeding up the doomsday timeline. 

Makes sense, right?

I have to give her a begrudging amount of credit, though, because as hard as she is worked, Donald Trump still won the election in 2024 and with just under six years left on the planet, she is still out there working with Grandpa Bernie to make sure that their views of a government takeover to prevent future catastrophes is still being advocated for. 

If only she had started this crusade along with Al Gore back in the 70's, maybe they both could have saved the Earth.

Just imagine if we had that type of willpower on our side.

What a truly wonderful world it could be.
