I am so proud of my alma mater, Liberty University, today.
For the last few months, I haven’t really been able to say that, even though I loved my time at the school.
Their tag line is: Building champions for Christ.
It’s a sentiment I can get behind, and it’s the very reason I sought out Liberty when I got the opportunity to push on for higher learning.
The last few months have seen the name of Liberty University, and the name of its founder, Jerry Falwell, Sr. drug through the mud, scorned and ridiculed, all because the school president, Jerry Falwell Jr. has become an immovable, deluded shill for an unrepentant profaner, abuser, and adulterer by the name of Donald J. Trump.
This is where I remind people that, unlike his father, Jerry Falwell Jr. is not a pastor. He is a lawyer. And a mercenary.
Just the kind of guy who would see the benefit in rolling in the stench of Trump.
While Falwell Jr. has pushed Trump relentlessly, it has not been so for the student body.
Now, the students of Liberty have formed Liberty United Against Trump, and have released a powerful statement of where they stand on this albatross that their school president has attempted to stain them with.
To all politico journos who follow me:

The opening of the statement reads:
“In the months since Jerry Falwell Jr. endorsed him, Donald Trump has been inexorably associated with Liberty University. We are Liberty students who are disappointed with President Falwell’s endorsement and are tired of being associated with one of the worst presidential candidates in American history. Donald Trump does not represent our values and we want nothing to do with him.”
The statement goes on to point out that during the primaries, Trump got 90 votes from the entire student body. The school went overwhelmingly to Marco Rubio.
It is a shame that such a fine school has been subjected to the whims of its morally corrupt president. His father is surely spinning in his grave. The school, and the Falwell name have enjoyed a place of high regard in evangelical circles, up until this point in our history.
It is also encouraging to see Liberty’s student body join together to finally say, ENOUGH.
The statement closes:
“We are not proclaiming our opposition to Donald Trump out of bitterness, but out of a desire to regain the integrity of our school. While our president Jerry Falwell Jr. tours the country championing the log in his own eye, we want the world to know how many students oppose him. We don’t want to champion Donald Trump; we want only to be champions for Christ.”
Well said.
