OPINION: Kamala Harris' Interview Looked a Lot Like This Star Trek Episode

Kamala Harris has a major problem with attracting male voters. Polling routinely shows about a 15-point gap in Donald Trump's favor among men. There has always been, at least in my lifetime, a so-called gender gap between the parties, but this may be the first time that gap has gone against the Democrats. It isn't like this is a situation unknown to the Democrats. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was picked as her running mate based on him, at least in the Democrat worldview, being a man's man; that would be someone who bailed out of their National Guard unit rather than accept a combat deployment, lied about their rank and accomplishments, hung out with high school kids to talk about gay sex, and definitely has a John Wayne Gacy vibe about him.

Yesterday's interview with Fox News's Bret Baier probably didn't make things better. In terms of substance, Kamala gave "vacuous" a bad name. She was unable or unwilling to provide simple answers to very basic questions, like "How many illegals has your administration released inside the United States?"

Her answers, per se, were probably not as damaging as they could have been, but I think her delivery probably hit a spot hard-wired into every non-gay male's brain. She was nearly a comic stereotype of a harridan. This skit gets Kamala pitch perfect.

Her tone and body language immediately bring to mind the denouement of this classic Star Trek episode.

There has long been a political principle called the "beer question." It's based on a very simple idea: We are more inclined to vote for people we think we'd like to hang out with. Not only is Kamala not someone you'd want to grab a beer with, which is why she's not doing as well among women as Joe Biden did, but if you're a guy, she's definitely not who you want to confront after having a beer with your friends.
