On October 14, 2020, in the heat of the 2020 presidential contest, the New York Post published a blockbuster. They had in their possession a laptop computer that Joe Biden’s dissolute and degenerate git, Hunter, had abandoned in a Delaware computer repair store. The contents were damning. They showed conclusively that Joe Biden was not merely an arm’s length recipient of payoffs from the opportunities for graft and corruption business opportunities he’d placed in Hunter’s path. Joe Biden was an active part of the Biden Crime Family.

Almost immediately, the leftist media and tech corporations locked dainty little arms and refused to admit that anything even existed. The New York Times reviewed the laptop, found no evidence that it had been tampered with, but claimed they couldn’t verify the emails because they couldn’t review the sent emails of sending accounts or some such bullsh** that they never use as a standard before hammering conservatives.

Shortly after the original New York Post reporting, “a group of 51 former senior intelligence officials” signed a letter saying that this had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” (See Former CIA Officer David Priess Defends Signing Infamous ‘Hunter Biden Laptop’ Letter and Shows He Thinks You Are Stupid for how that is being spun.)

Twitter and Facebook sprang into action. Facebook prevented the story from being shared. Twitter classified the laptop material as being the product of “hacking” — because the very definition of hacking is leaving a laptop at a repair shop, refusing to pay the repair bill, and having the proprietor take possession — and prevented any links to the New York Post story from circulating on that platform.

Now with Republicans back in charge in the House and an investigation being teed up into the Biden Crime Family (There’s Nothing Wrong With House Republicans Investigating Hunter Biden), despite the wailing of some people whom I’ve become convinced like to lose because it is more lucrative, we see the first cracks in the media’s wall of silence.

SURPRISE!!! Two years after many of us broke much news and independently authenticated Hunter Biden’s laptop, CBS news says “Yep, it’s real, and it’s bad!” They even regurgitate stories we did 2 years ago! Can’t make this up!

I think there are two takeaways from this reporting.

First, the battle over the authenticity of the laptop and its contents is over. No serious outlet or person is contesting that. There is evidence that the fight will be over what the documents in the laptop actually mean. As my colleague, Jeff Charles posted in Media Runs Cover for Hunter Biden After House Republicans Announce Investigation, they are arguing that the emails that clearly show Joe Biden was involved in Hunter’s business don’t really show that at all. In other words, it is something like the Benghazi hearings.

Second, by admitting that the laptop is legitimate, the media are setting up a situation where Joe Biden is going to be damaged. I think this is intentional, as everyone knows the only way of keeping Joe off the 2024 ticket is by his voluntary withdrawal or the Grim Reaper. Covering the laptop story lets Biden know what he will have to deal with when he runs, and so they believe he will be encouraged to step aside.
