Iran Responds to Trump’s Strait Move - He Finishes Them With One Reply
Meanwhile, the blockade and Operation Economic Fury continue to choke them. So they can throw all the tantrums they want, but they still have that crushing them, big time.
The Wedding Singer: Marco Rubio Breaks the Internet Again With His Latest Gig
The Rubio memes have been immensely popular, and his DJ stint will only add to his growing legend. In my view, this type of humor, along with Trump’s laugh-out-loud one-liners and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s quick wit, showcase something larger: namely, that the Democrats bring a vision mostly of darkness, gloom, doom, and bitterness, while the GOP far more often brings messages of hope, humor, and love of life.
Maloney’s ‘Run Right’ Explains Why We Keep Losing Winnable Elections — and How to Change That
Knocking on doors and talking to voters face-to-face is still one of the most effective ways to win elections. In fact, it may be even more powerful now because so many campaigns have stopped doing it.
That creates an opportunity.

Bearing Arms — This Is the Most Ridiculous Proposal to Prevent Gun Deaths We’ve Seen in a While
So while this isn't as invasive as gun control, and could actually benefit first-time gun owners with that proposed subsidy, it wouldn't do a damn thing and just continues to demonize a category of firearms rather than acknowledge that the issues lie far deeper than any discussion of the tools people use to hurt themselves or others.
If Trump really wants "action," he knows how to get it. Right now, it seems like the Iranians want action too, and they know how to get it. If the US Navy begins uncorking the bottleneck in the Strait and gets the commercial shipping through it, Vahidi loses the last bit of leverage, and he knows it. Action is coming, one way or the other.
PJ Media — Now That’s How You Get People Off Food Stamps!
The Congressional Budget Office projects that the work provisions will remove roughly 2.4 million people from SNAP rolls in a typical month. Trump has argued for years that welfare programs should be a backstop, not a destination. The One Big Beautiful Bill turns that philosophy into law, and the caseload numbers are already moving in the right direction.
Townhall — Why Anti-ICE Leftists Are Freaking Out — It’s Actually Hilarious
The site, GTFO ICE, was created by an anti-Trump commentator and former DHS official, Miles Taylor, and pretty much everyone’s information got exposed.
Not to mention, Platner has also said if women want to be sexually assaulted less, they should be smarter ... but hey, you'd think the Nazi thing would be enough, you know?
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
The critters are back on recess again...Okay, actually, this is a "District Work Week," meaning most of them are back home in their districts, meeting with constituents and such.
White House What's Up

- 1:00 PM — THE PRESIDENT participates in a Policy Meeting — Oval Office

Keeping Up With the Cabinet
Sec. Veterans Affairs - Doug Collins — Collins is touting improvements made at the VA under the Trump administration.
Under @POTUS, VA is delivering benefits faster than ever. From cutting claim processing times nearly in half, to reducing the backlog to under 80K, more Veterans and survivors are quickly getting the benefits they’ve earned.https://t.co/dtnJgl9aj3 pic.twitter.com/O4orISRH5H

Full Court Press...
We've had a spate of notable court rulings over the past few days. Here are a couple of those:
- ❌ In U.S. v. Fontes (voter rolls - AZ), Judge Susan Brnovich (Arizona) GRANTS defendant's motion to dismiss.
- ❌ In Carroll v. Trump (defamation), 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals DENIES petition for rehearing en banc. [4/29]
There are a few more to share, but I've not had a chance to wade through them all — will have those ready to go for Tuesday's column.
In other court-related news, attorneys for the prosecution and defense in the case against Cole Allen (the would-be WHCD assassin) have been ordered by the court to appear for a hearing at noon on Monday to address Allen's being held in solitary confinement.
COMING ATTRACTIONS
No official opinion days announced for the Supreme Court this week, but I suspect we'll see at least one.
MORNING MUSING
I'll confess I've not paid a ton of attention lately to the various protest-a-paloozas going on around the country, but Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) shared a video the other day that caught my attention. We see a gray-haired woman (who bears more than a passing resemblance to Maude, IMO) in a purple "Make America Kind Again" t-shirt, whacking away at a Trump effigy/piñata.
I'm with Sen. Lee on this — I'm pretty sure this isn't what "kindness" looks like...
Easy there, Maude. https://t.co/zlUD4kNaFF

LIGHTER FARE
I don't know about y'all, but in my view, Animal Twitter (sorry, X) has been highly entertaining of late.
got chased by that stupid brown bear again today, will update how it went later. pic.twitter.com/BwJa9sqbs6
