The Wedding Singer: Marco Rubio Breaks the Internet Again With His Latest Gig

It’s become the meme craze of the year: AI-generated images of Secretary of State Marco Rubio taking on various jobs ranging from Ayatollah of Iran to coach of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins to Prime Minister of Greenland. The trend began when a photographer caught Rubio slumped on the couch in the White House, looking a little exhausted, and it reminded people of the large number of official titles he holds or did until recently: Acting National Security Advisor, Acting Archivist of the U.S., and Acting USAID Administrator, among others.

He’s doing a lot of "acting," evidently.

BEING MARCO: Rubio is Trump's go-to 'Acting Secretary'. Here's Marco finding out he's got to run Venezuela, Iran, Canada, Minnesota, Hilton, and Greenland... What am I missing? 🤣

As funny as the memes are, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino posted a video of the secretary of state actually taking on a new job you may not have had on your bingo card. He became the temporary DJ at a family wedding, you see. Whatever he’s holding up to his ear, it doesn’t appear to be a phone, and it sure doesn’t look like he’s negotiating with any world leaders.

Wait till the last moment of the clip, where he appears to get really into it:

But wait — there’s more. Here’s Marco allegedly introducing and singing along to a high-energy techno hit, which clearly seems to be Feel So Close by Calvin Harris. If you could hold just one moment, please, President Putin:

The Rubio memes have been immensely popular, and his DJ stint will only add to his growing legend. In my view, this type of humor, along with Trump’s laugh-out-loud one-liners and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s quick wit, showcase something larger: namely, that the Democrats bring a vision mostly of darkness, gloom, doom, and bitterness, while the GOP far more often brings messages of hope, humor, and love of life.

The world is going to end, America sucks, your entire identity should be based on your gender identity, we all hate each other, and you should feel guilty if things are good for you, the Dems say. Republicans, meanwhile, preach that we should strive to see that we all do better, that life is good and something to be celebrated, that success should be rewarded and not demonized, and that the United States should be proud of its leadership and should use its vast power to crush evil.

Sure, they're just memes and videos, but they say so much.

Rubio, meanwhile, may have to start getting ready for his next gig. If you can get through this one without laughing, you're a better person than I:
