The office of Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Alina Habba, was attacked on Wednesday night, and the Department of Justice is seeking the suspect. News of the attack broke early Thursday afternoon, as Attorney General Pam Bondi shared information about the incident on her X account:
We will find this person, and the individual will be brought to justice.

Bondi's message reads in full:
Last night, an individual attempted to confront one of our U.S. Attorneys — my dear friend @USAttyHabba —destroyed property in her office, and then fled the scene. Thankfully, Alina is ok.
Any violence or threats of violence against any federal officer will not be tolerated. Period. This is unfortunately becoming a trend as radicals continue to attack law enforcement agents around the country.
We will find this person, and the individual will be brought to justice.
Our federal prosecutors, agents, and law-enforcement partners put their lives on the line every day to protect the American people, and this Department will use every legal tool available to ensure their safety and hold violent offenders fully accountable.
The details regarding the attack are scant at the moment, and it's not entirely clear whether Habba, who was appointed to the role by President Donald Trump, was present at her office when the incident occurred.

Thankfully, as indicated by AG Bondi, Habba is okay. However, it appears that the individual attempting to confront Habba caused some property destruction before fleeing the scene.
It's a safe bet that there is surveillance footage of the incident, and we can be sure that federal law enforcement will pull out all the stops to track the perpetrator down. As Bondi rightly notes, this trend of violence and threats of violence against federal officers will not (and cannot) be tolerated.
