Book: The One Disastrous Flub That 'Floored' Even Kamala's Top Advisor and Nuked Her Campaign
To some, Kamala represented that change, but she blew it so badly on this appearance that you could almost hear the Fat Lady singing.
The economy is a complex beast. Something Harris and her voters could never quite comprehend.
Republicans Doomed, Again: News at Eleven
As they did in 1995-1996, I believe the Democrats/MSM are just projecting the latest Republican DOOM scenario.

The Litany Of Gun Control Violations Raise Serious Questions Anti-Gunners Won't Answer
So these people who live in urban environments where shooting is primarily a thing that criminals do get the wrong idea and no one is providing the other side of the debate to them in a place they'll actually see.
It Never Happens, But It Is Both Good and Mandatory
Good intentions may be a good excuse when you make a minor mistake or misjudgment, but when debating something as deadly serious as forcing dangerous medical procedures on anyone, especially children, you better know what you are talking about.
Well, Lookie Here: Congresswoman and Harvard Prof Are Caught Planning Massive Anti-Trump Riots?
These leftists now declare that the griftus interruptus imposed by the Trump Administration is “destroying democracy.” They’re on video explaining how to cause civil unrest for at least a week to force Trump to resign. They want thousands — preferably “3-1/2%” — to get “street ready” for another Summer of Love.

New George Floyd Just Dropped: Minnesota Police Not Pursuing ANY Charges Against Tesla Vandal
Minnesota has always been a liberal state. But it used to be a relatively sane one.
Not anymore.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
It's Fryyyyyyyday, so there are no formal meetings or hearings on the Hill, although there is one field hearing: The House Natural Resources Committee is conducting an oversight field hearing titled “Examining 50 years of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act in Indian Country” at the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The Senate was busy on Thursday. The upper chamber:
- voted to disapprove a Department of Energy rule relating to "Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Walk-In Coolers and Walk-In Freezers,"
- voted to confirm D. John Sauer as Solicitor General, Mehmet Oz as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Harmeet Dhillon as Assistant Attorney General
- voted to reject a measure disapproving of military aid to Israel
- voted to proceed on the "concurrent resolution establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034."
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) took some time to chat with our own Joe Cunningham on Thursday over President Trump's Tariff Plan:

White House What's Up
It's a lighter schedule for President Donald Trump Friday as the only official event on his calendar is a "MAGA, Inc. Candlelight Dinner" in the evening. I've a sneaking suspicion we'll hear more from him today than that, however.
Vice President JD Vance gave a wide-ranging interview to "Fox & Friends" Thursday:

Full Court Press...
After being viciously smeared by Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-CA) in Tuesday's hearing before the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia on censorship, independent journalist Matt Taibbi responded to the ill-founded charges...with a $10 million defamation suit. You love to see it.
Not to get too into the weeds, but remember that, in addition to the state court trial against Trump in New York before Judge Juan Merchan, there was ongoing related litigation in federal court (as Trump's attorneys contended the matter should have been removed to federal court because of his being a federal officer and the important federal interests involved in the case). The district court denied Trump's attempted removal, and he appealed that to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. It's looking like oral argument will be set before the Court of Appeals in early to mid-June. What does that mean? Nothing at the moment. But it's conceivable that the appellate court (or possibly, ultimately, the Supreme Court) could agree that the case should have been tried in federal court rather than state court — which would then nullify the state court trial (and conviction). (This is in addition to the direct appeal of the case, which remains pending before the state appellate court.) The long and short of it is, it ain't over yet.
COMING ATTRACTIONS
As noted above, the Senate voted to proceed on the budget resolution. Here's Chad Pergram's "The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Senate’s All Night Session On the Big, Beautiful Bill."
MORNING MUSING
As someone who spends a significant portion of her time on social media — primarily X — I've had to learn to set boundaries for myself so as not to get sucked into the vortex of negativity (and unproductivity). I've actually gotten fairly good at "turning it off" when need be. But I realize I've not availed myself nearly enough of one of the handy functions provided by the platform: the mute button. Okay — it's not really a button, but it's an option. And it's one you can employ as to a particular user/account or as to particular terms. Thus, yesterday, I set it for a temporary mute of the word "tariff." I'd had my fill of all the online agonizing on the topic and just wanted a breather from that. And then...there are those accounts — those big ones that seem to have an outsized voice on the platform. You see their stuff — may even agree with some of it — but realize the vast majority of what they're offering is either: a) clickbait/engagement farming; or b) a toxic stew. (Maybe even both.) And you realize it's time to get over your FOMO — the world's not going to end if you don't see that account's tweets. There's no need to block them — I rarely take that drastic step. (It's not like they're reading my stuff anyway.) But muting them really is quite liberating. They get to keep shouting into the void...and I get to keep ignoring them very much. Win-win.
