Dan Rather Redux: '60 Minutes' Producer Remains Defiant Despite Being Caught Red-Handed Manipulating News

The edit is not “perfectly fine”—it’s one of the most blatant media manipulations I’ve ever seen. They showed you something that wasn’t the truth, and yet they insisted it was. That is called lying where I come from.

USAID Pays the Terrorists Who Kill Us

We pay our enemies—and they're our enemies—millions per week. We share intelligence with them, and we left our other enemy, China, in the driver's seat in Afghanistan.

HUGE Mistake, Phil! After Getting Heat From Homan, NJ Gov. Murphy Now Denies He's Housing Illegal Migrant

It's Tuesday and odds are whatever's going on for you today, dear reader, you'll probably have a better day than Phil Murphy.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

Tuesday looks to be a busy day on the Hill. At 10:00 a.m., the Senate Finance Committee will vote on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services. The Senate Intelligence Committee is also expected to vote on Tulsi Gabbard's nomination for Director of National Intelligence at 2:00 p.m.

The full Senate will vote on Doug Collins' nomination for Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

On Monday, Chris Wright was confirmed for Secretary of Energy, Russ Vought cleared the procedural vote for Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and Pam Bondi cleared the procedural vote for Attorney General.

Additional hearings/meetings set for Tuesday include:

  • Senate Judiciary — Hearings to examine the poisoning of America, focusing on fentanyl, its analogues, and the need for permanent class scheduling
  • House Rules — H.R. 27 - Halt All Lethal Trafficking of Fentanyl Act

White House What's Up

While Monday was all about the Great Tariff War (which lasted roughly 12 hours) and the Battle of DOGE at USAID, we'll call Tuesday "Bibi Day" for the White House, as President Donald Trump's schedule today largely revolves around meetings and events involving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump will start off the afternoon with more executive orders, but after that, he greats Netanyahu, then holds a bilateral meeting with him in the Oval Office, followed by an expanded bilateral meeting in the Cabinet Room, followed by a press conference, and then a state dinner.

Full Court Press...

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has entered a temporary restraining order on the Trump administration, ordering a stop to the temporary freeze (which, I suppose, = a go) on federal grants and loans. This case is undoubtedly one of many we'll see wending their way through the courts as Trump 2.0 came loaded for bear. We'll try to keep up.

Meanwhile, acting D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin has his hands full, keeping up with all the goings on in the District. (At some point in the not-too-distant future, there will be some court hearings before the D.C. Circuit judges and the Trump DOJ that will, no doubt, be rather...zesty.)

COMING ATTRACTIONS

The Senate Finance Committee will vote on Jamieson Greer's nomination as U.S. Trade Representative on Thursday.

Trump announced that he will be talking to Panama on Friday afternoon — by phone. He's likely to be speaking with Chinese President Xi Jinping at some point, as well.

MORNING MUSING

Is it really only Tuesday? Monday seemed like a week unto itself. There's been no shortage of outrage and uproar over the efforts by the Trump administration and DOGE to root out waste and fraud in our federal bureaucracy — which is to be expected. As unsettling as it may be, drastic measures are needed to right this ship, but it's important that they're taken wisely and legally. Rip off the Band-Aid, shine a light on it all, and whatever other metaphors apply — but do it right.

LIGHTER FARE

I guess we'll stick with the cow theme...
