Report: Tim Walz Did *What* on Memorial Day?

One would think that on a solemn day like Memorial Day, Democrats could somehow find a way to put away the Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) for five minutes to respectfully honor our fallen in a way that avoids partisan cheap shots.

But that wasn't meant to be, as evidenced by the despicable post the official Democrat Party account shared on social media, where they pretended to honor the 13 American military lives lost in Operation Epic Fury, as RedState previously reported.

"Today, we honor the American heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in Trump's war with Iran," the tweet read, while including photos of the 13 service members. It was so offensive that other Democrats complained about it, including one who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, resulting in the post being taken down.

In Minnesota, the annual Memorial Day event near Fort Snelling National Cemetery took place. Among those scheduled to speak according to the provided program were Democrat Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Gov. Tim Walz (D), both of whom have spoken at past Memorial Day gatherings.

But while Klobuchar, who is running for governor, was on hand to give her remarks, reports are swirling that Walz, who was accused of stolen valor during the 2024 presidential campaign, where he was the Democrat vice presidential nominee, was not.

What makes it even more bizarre is that Walz was seen at a George Floyd remembrance gathering on the same day, dancing and carrying on (and making a joke about how he wasn't a bad dancer "for a white guy") like he was having the time of his life:

NEW: While Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made time to visit George Floyd Square to dance today, multiple people with direct knowledge of Fort Snelling’s Memorial Day program confirm he did not attend, despite appearing in the program to speak.

“We are supposed to honor our heroes, and he blows off the veterans? What a slap in the face,” one attendee said.

I've scanned through the Fox 9 live feed of the Fort Snelling event and didn't see him there. I searched the YouTube transcripts of the event, and Walz's name was not mentioned. According to the program, he was supposed to speak after Klobuchar, but the person who spoke after the senator was her fellow Democrat colleague in the Senate, Tina Smith, whose name wasn't on the program.

The only "report" I've seen mentioning Walz in relation to the 2026 event was from a site called MinneapoliMedia, and it looks like one that may have either been AI-generated or written ahead of time, because it includes a picture of Walz from last year and includes no quotes from any of the speakers at this year's event.

So what happened? Was he there and decided to hang back and give Klobuchar the spotlight since she's running to replace him (after he dropped his reelection bid)? Did he attend another Memorial Day-centered gathering instead? Did he have a family emergency that preempted the Fort Snelling speaking engagement?

Inquiring minds want to know. Because if the answer is simply that he indeed decided to ditch the Memorial Day-themed events altogether in favor of one celebrating George Floyd, then that is truly despicable.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
