Wherever Chuck Schumer goes these days he is digging deeper and deeper holes for himself and his party, and that has certainly been the case in the aftermath of his cave to Republicans and President Donald Trump on the continuing resolution.
As we've reported, the New York Democrat has been unable to catch a break anywhere he appears, as even normally Dem-friendly media figures are giving him grief. He's also postponed book tour stops in reliably blue cities - citing "security concerns" over the possibility of protesters. And even at his own home, radical leftist demonstrators are close by.
It's gotten so bad for Schumer that Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) is also taking swipes at the Sen. Minority Leader in his uniquely John Kennedy way, stating that Schumer right now is "about as popular as chlamydia."

On Wednesday, Schumer did an interview with PBS, which is facing the possibility of losing its taxpayer funding by way of the GOP-controlled Congress. But during his remarks, Schumer made an accidental admission about the Republican town halls that the Trump Dept. of Justice might want to take notice of (bolded emphasis added):
But I would say this. We are — we — in 2017, when he was last here, Nancy Pelosi and I said we're going to go after him on health care. He was very unpopular with that. We're going to go after him on tax breaks for the rich.
And then we won the House and picked up some seats in the Senate in 2018. Same thing is going to happen now. And we're going to go after him in so many different ways. We are doing much better on the social media led by Cory Booker and Tina Smith in our house. And so we're reaching people who were not reached before.
We are — we are mobilizing in New York. We have people going to the Republican districts and going after — going after these Republicans who are voting for this and forcing them to either face — change their vote or face the consequences. This is a long, relentless fight that we fight every day.
Watch:
Chuck Schumer just accidentally exposed that Democrats are behind the ongoing disruptions at town halls on PBS.

To be clear, left-wing Soros-funded groups like MoveOn have already more or less admitted that this is what they were doing, which is similar to the astroturfing we saw in 2017 during Trump's first year in office. But even without their admission, it's still pretty obvious what's been going on:

But now we have the highest-ranking Democrat in the federal government not only conceding it, but it sounds like collusion is going on as well.
Further, what "consequences" would he be referring to here? His words come off a lot like his "reap the whirlwind" threat/intimidation attempt against conservative Supreme Court Justices from March 2020, and the Dept. of Justice needs to immediately begin making some inquiries.
If I was a Republican House member, I wouldn't want to be holding these town halls right now, either. They are designed for their constituents, not out-of-town/state professional left-wing agitators who are purposely stirring up division and confusion to create the impression that red districts oppose the Trump agenda.
In any event, thanks to Chuck Schumer for once again opening his mouth and inserting his foot and in the process giving Republicans another tailor-made ad to run in the 2026 midterms. Nice work, buddy. Keep it up.
