As RedState reported earlier, Vice President JD Vance gave a speech Tuesday at the American Dynamism Summit on artificial intelligence and how the Trump administration feels like U.S. dominance in AI coupled with good old-fashioned American labor offered a best-of-both-worlds scenario to help usher forth what he called the "great American manufacturing comeback."
"...we're going to slash regulations, we're going to reduce the cost of energy so that you can build, build, build," Vance stated. "Our goal is to incentivize investment in our own borders, in our own businesses, our own workers, and our own innovation."
"We want [people] investing and building right here in the United States of America," he also said.

Something else he shared during the summit was his wife's, Second Lady Usha Vance, hilarious reaction to bizarre remarks made by a billionaire tech CEO at a 2017 dinner, where the same subject was under discussion:
Vance detailed a dinner event he and his wife Usha had in 2017 with a powerful group of Silicon Valley business leaders where they talked about the societal concerns of replacing workers with artificial intelligence.
One of the wealthy CEOs, Vance recalled, told him that he was not worried about putting people out of work, asserting that they would find a new sense of purpose through 'digital fully immersive gaming.'
[...]
'My wife texted me under the table and said, "We have to get the hell out of here, these people are f-ing crazy,"' he continued.

Usha Vance has, understandably, taken on a mostly low-key role since becoming Second Lady, focusing primarily on adjusting to and fine-tuning her new responsibilities and helping (along with the VP) the Vance's three young children get situated in their new surroundings as members of the Second Family.
Unfortunately, being the spouse of Donald Trump's vice president has brought along with it the usual hate and bashing from the left. The mainstream media has gotten in on the action as well, with CBS News trying to drag Mrs. Vance's mother, University of California San Diego Sixth College provost Lakshmi Chilukuri, into the DEI debate because Mrs. Chilukuri, unlike JD Vance, is a proponent of DEI.
As we documented at the time, the veep's response was a total smackdown.
"This story exists because CBS has decided that harassing my mother-in-law is a reasonable price in order to attack President Trump," Vance said in a statement after CBS News requested comment on their hit piece.
"I love my mother-in-law," Vance also told them. "If she doesn’t share my views on DEI I suppose I’ll have to do what 99 percent of Americans do when confronted with a family member who doesn’t always agree with them: get over it."
The Vances continue to be a joy to watch as they carefully but confidently navigate the choppy DC/media political terrain with seeming ease. 2028 is a long way off, but I'm already looking forward to what it promises to hold from a GOP leadership standpoint. More, please.
