'We Are So Back': Trump 2.0 in Full Effect As POTUS Neutralizes Reporter As Only He Can

We are into day three of President Donald Trump's second term in office and it goes without saying that he did not waste time getting right down to business.

His goal which - put simply - is to make America great again involves undoing the damage ushered forth by his predecessor, Joe Biden, wherever he can.

One of the ways he's attempting to accomplish that is via the slew of executive orders he signed just hours after being sworn in, taking immediate action to, among other things, secure the southern border, withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization as well as the Paris Climate Accords, and "open up America's treasure chest" (Alaska) to more resource exploration, as my RedState colleague Ward Clark put it.

Along the way, Trump has had the White House Press Corps close at hand to witness and document the changes being made, and has routinely interacted with them as though he never left office, except this time around he's keeping it light, casual, yet firm and to the point in his uniquely Trumpian way of course.

One exchange, however, has prompted people to stand up and take notice.

It happened during a formal-ish press conference held Tuesday in the Roosevelt Room, where Trump announced a major AI initiative called Stargate, which he says will "build the physical and virtual infrastructure to power the next generation of AI."

The reporter, NBC News' Peter Alexander, pressed Trump on his J6 pardons, with Alexander of course taking the left's position that some of the pardons were not deserved.

Watch below as Trump, who was in full Trump 2.0 mode, shut down Alexander when he tried to interrupt him - and then, as Alexander apologizes:

Then watch as Trump not only explained his pardon rationale but smoothly moved on from Alexander when he, in Trump's (likely) view, overstayed his welcome by demanding another follow-up:

We are so back indeed.

It's been so long since we've had a president who regularly engaged with and knew how to navigate the choppy waters better known as the White House Press Corps that I had almost - almost - forgotten what it looked like.

What a welcome and refreshing sight to behold.
