Shock: WaPo Reporter Shuts Down Dem Influencer Big Time in Debate Over Trump vs. Biden Media Access

Donald Trump had only been the 47th President of the United States for a few hours before he got right down to business, signing a stack of executive orders to undo the damage Joe Biden has done, with some signed at the Capital One Arena during an inauguration-related rally and others being signed in the Oval Office.

Among the orders, as we reported, were ones designed to help secure the southern border, end birthright citizenship, pause the TikTok ban for a short time, and withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Accords and the World Health Organization.

During his time behind the Resolute Desk, Trump casually engaged with the reporters in the room, which was a marked departure from how Biden's handlers would aggressively herd the press away from him after a few minutes and a couple of questions, leaving them little option beyond shouting out questions in hopes of getting an answer.

The change was something that did not go unnoticed by some in the mainstream media, including White House bureau chief Matt Viser from the Washington Post:

Democrat influencer Chris Jackson, who has a bizarre Harry Sisson-esque devotion to Joe Biden, responded by claiming Biden "literally did the same thing" the first day he took office in 2021:

Except... no, that's not what happened, as Viser explained:

Viser, as RedState has documented before, is a garden variety leftist journo, once "reporting" for instance on the guitar-playing habits of some of Biden's cabinet officials. So if he's shutting down Democrat talking points about Joe Biden and media access, then you know Biden's conservative critics are on the mark.

Obviously, things will be a lot different from priority and policy standpoints in the Trump administration than they were in the Biden administration. But the same is going to hold true as well in terms of media access.

Biden and his staffers severely limited his interactions with the press for the four years he was in office because they were trying to hide what everyone in America who watched the Trump/Biden June 2024 debate saw.

Trump, on the other hand, enjoys going back and forth and at times sparring if necessary with reporters despite their very contentious relationship with each other, something we saw in his first term and which we are likely to see more of in his second.

Why? Trump's not coming in this time around as a newbie to the White House/Capitol Hill scene, and now has several years of experience navigating its choppy waters and getting to know its various players.

If anything, his second term has the potential to go much smoother than his first despite the Democrat/media handwringing because he knows how to get what he wants and knows how to get the attention of the media to make his case and put the pressure on whoever he needs it to be on.

Not 4D chess by any means. Just Trump understanding how to play the game at this stage of it and doing what he feels has to be done in his own very Trumpian way.
