On Monday, we reported on Squad Leader Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-N.Y.) sudden and convenient concern about the dramatic escalation in antisemitic demonstrations, threats, and attacks against Jewish people worldwide in the aftermath of the start of the Hamas-instigated war with Israel.
As we speculated, the likely reason behind AOC's newly-found soft spot for the Jewish community was polling and incredibly bad press for the Hamas Caucus and their near-constant Israel bashing, considering New York is home to the largest population of Jewish people anywhere in the world outside of Israel.
And speaking of the Hamas Caucus, AOC wasn't the only one on Monday trying to pivot to a more conciliatory tone towards the Jewish community. Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.), who on Sunday accused Israel without evidence of engaging in "ethnic cleansing" and who previously blamed them for the Hamas terrorist attacks suddenly wanted people to know that she had allegedly "cosponsored a resolution condemning Hamas for hostage-taking and urging their immediate release."
While it's true that she did indeed co-sponsor a "ceasefire" resolution along with her fellow Democratic Socialist Party members in the House (which she referenced in the next tweet), it is not even remotely true that the resolution condemned Hamas and urged the immediate release of the Israeli hostages they've taken, something Community Notes pointed out in response:
This month, I cosponsored a resolution condemning Hamas for hostage-taking and urging their immediate release.

We must ensure the safe return of all hostages and the protection of Palestinian and Israeli civilians.
In case the Community Notes links don't show up in the embedded tweet above, here's a screengrab of it as of this writing:
Cori Bush just flat-out lies about her "Ceasefire" resolution, gets Community Noted. pic.twitter.com/P7HbfFyVwz

The first link directs readers to the actual resolution, which RedState readers will note does not even mention Hamas nor does it reference hostages. It doesn't even note that the war was started by Hamas paragliders invading a concert packed with civilians, many of who were raped, taken hostage, and murdered.
For those who can't pull up a PDF document, Bush tweeted it out at the time it was introduced:
We must do everything we can to save lives.@RepRashida, @RepAndreCarson, @RepSummerLee, @RepDeliaramirez, and I are introducing the #CeasefireNOW Resolution to call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and Palestine.

The second Community Notes link goes to a story about the nine Democrats who voted against the House Speaker Mike Johnson-pushed resolution in support of Israel. Bush and AOC were among those who voted against it.
So why is Bush now trying to save face with Jewish citizens in Missouri? Let's just take a wild guess:
Bush’s district includes several municipalities with a substantial Jewish population, including University City, Creve Coeur, Olivette and part of Clayton.
Further, as RedState deputy managing editor Susie Moore reported Monday, Bush now officially has a formidable Democratic primary challenger in her solidly Democratic district, St. Louis County Prosecutor Wesley Bell, who was originally running in hopes of facing off against Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) in the general election but who has decided to take on Bush in the primary instead - in part over her stance on the Israel-Hamas war:
Bell said Monday he decided to switch races at the urging of Democrats who said “we need you in Washington, but St. Louis needs you in the House of Representatives.”
“With the world in a dangerous place, we need steady and effective leadership,” Bell said. “And we’re not getting it.”
[...]
Bell on Monday was sharply critical of Bush’s stance on Israel: “We can’t give aid and comfort to terrorists, and Hamas is a terrorist organization.”
[...]
Bell said Bush’s statements about the Israel-Hamas conflict “is not what the majority of Democrats feel is the appropriate response.”
While saying that the U.S. should support a two-state solution in the Middle East, he added that “we have to stand with our allies.”
After Bush's lie-filled Monday tweet, some called on her to resign, but quite frankly I'd like to see her stay in it in hopes that on primary night she, like other Squad members who are facing primary challengers, embarrassingly gets retired from Congress by fed-up voters who have simply had enough.
