'In Context' Polling Numbers for Kamala Harris Make Her Look Even Worse

As RedState reported earlier, Vice President Kamala Harris was the recipient of some bad news courtesy of a recent NBC News poll of registered voters, which not only showed that her “positive view” ratings stood at 32 percent but also that she had a record-setting net-negative rating for NBC News polling history:

That’s the share of registered voters in a new NBC News poll who say they have a positive view of Vice President Kamala Harris. That’s compared with 49% who have a negative view of her, including 39% who have a “very negative” view.

Harris’ net-negative rating (-17) is the lowest for any vice president in the poll’s history.

Here’s a breakdown of the numbers in comparison to other polls they’ve taken on Harris since Joe Biden picked her to be his vice presidential running mate to please powerful woke Democrats who demanded a woman of color be chosen for the job in exchange for their support:

To put those numbers in context, NBC News broke it down even further:

In Oct. 2019, then-Vice President Mike Pence had a 34% positive, 38% negative rating (-4).

In Dec. 2010, Joe Biden’s rating was 34% positive, 33% negative (+1).

In May 2003, Dick Cheney was at 47% positive, 24% negative (+23).

And in March of 1995, Al Gore’s rating in the poll was 42% positive, 27% negative (+15).

Discerning readers will note that framing the numbers from that perspective actually makes Kamala Harris look even worse. I mean having a worse net-negative rating than both Mike Pence and Dick Cheney, both of who we were reliably informed by our intellectual betters were absolutely the worst vice presidents ever is just not a good look, I don’t care how you slice it.

At this point, it’s hard to pinpoint just which one is dragging down the Biden-Harris 2024 reelection ticket more. Is it Joe Biden with his patented flubs, gaffes, penchant for incoherency and heavy reliance on his Handler-in-Chief spouse to provide clear direction, or is it “cacklin’Kamala Harris, known worldwide for her tendency to freestyle her scripted speeches into embarrassing word salads that no one but she and her staffers are able to understand?

Either way, considering that both Biden’s and Harris’ numbers do not look good, the GOP has a prime opportunity to take back the White House in 2024 (and the Senate as well, for that matter). But a lot of that depends on if they have a nominee who inspires the masses, pulls no punches, and can pull in the coveted independent voters whose approval both parties seek around election time.

It remains to be seen whether that can happen, of course, but in the meantime, fasten your seatbelts and hold on tight because the long ride between this moment and November 2024 is gonna be real bumpy.
