Watch: Lori Lightfoot Gives Chicagoans Another Reason to Vote Against Her During Lunar New Year Parade

When Democrat Bill de Blasio was still New York City’s mayor, conservatives including Fox News host Tucker Carlson only half-jokingly talked about how there was a running contest between de Blasio and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, also a Democrat, to determine who America’s worst mayor was.

I gave the edge to failed 2020 presidential candidate de Blasio at the time. But once his second term was over in December 2021, there was no more contest.

Lightfoot has continually demonstrated since then that she is undeniably the worst, considering her proposal to give herself a raise in the middle of another violent crime wave in Chicago, her two-faced nature, blaming retail store owners in part for smash-and-grab looting sprees, instituting a racist interview policy, her threats to crack down on lockdown opponents by using force during the COVID pandemic, and most notably her failure to address the rampant crime surge in Chicago, blaming everyone but herself.

And over the weekend, Lightfoot didn’t help herself at all during an appearance at the annual Argyle Lunar New Year Parade, where she proceeded to “dance” in the middle of a drumline performance while repeatedly yelling out for people to “vote, vote, vote!” in next month’s mayoral election, where Lightfoot is facing eight challengers.

What would have made that video much better would have been to not have Lightfoot in it. Because the Kaotic Drumline, as Lightfoot identified them, was doing a fine job on its own. Lightfoot, on the other hand, looked like an out of touch goofball.

Lightfoot has frequently been criticized in the past for posting singing and dancing videos to TikTok and seeming to confirm that she is a deeply unserious elected official.

But between her numerous failures as mayor, the Lunar New Year parade video and the ones below from Halloween 2020, one can hardly blame her critics – including some even on the Democratic side – for wanting her to be a one-term mayor:

Because there are nine candidates for mayor, it’s unlikely that any of them will reach the magic 50% needed on February 28th to prevent holding a runoff election, which would be held between the top two on April 4th if necessary. Some polls have shown a tight race between the top contenders, with others indicating Lightfoot is – understandably – in serious trouble with concerned voters.

As she should be.
