I can remember how on at least three occasions last year either Joe Biden or Kamala Harris mistakenly referred to the then-Senator as the next president.
There was that time in mid-September, about a month after Biden announced her as his running mate, where Harris talked about how things would be under a “Harris administration.”
“A Harris administration — together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States,” she said before correcting herself. “The Biden-Harris administration will provide access to $100 billion in low-interest loans and investments from minority business owners.”
A day later, Biden made a similar flub. “A Harris-Biden administration is going to relaunch that effort and keep pushing further to make it easier for military spouses and veterans to find meaningful careers,” Biden proclaimed during a Tampa, Florida campaign event.
There was also the time in late December that Biden, as president-elect, referred to Harris as ‘president-elect’ instead.
“I took it to instill public confidence in the vaccine. President-elect Harris took hers today for the same reason,” Biden stated at the time.
Here we are nearly two months into the Biden-Harris administration, and as speculation swirls as to why Biden has so far avoided holding a formal press conference, President Biden slipped up yet again and referred to Harris as “President”, this time during a formal speech at the White House earlier today.
In a speech announcing his 100 million vaccine goal will be reached tomorrow, Biden said that “when President Harris and I took a virtual tour of a vaccination center in Arizona not long ago, one of the nurses on that tour injecting people, giving vaccinations, said that each shot was like administering a dose of hope, a dose of hope. That’s how she phrased it.”

That’s just cringeworthy as all get out.
It did not take long for the memes to appear:
President Harris trending? …. I knew it wasn't a good idea to keep Joe in the same house . pic.twitter.com/enTz3tW8Ic

The video even made it to the “Biden voters posting their L’s” Twitter page:

All memes and jokes aside, Biden’s gaffe will only further fuel the chatter that started last year about how he was picking Harris to be his “president in waiting” because he either had no plans to serve the full four years of his presidency or planned only on serving one term.

It will also prompt further questions as to who might really be running the show at the White House (Harris? Press secretary Jen Psaki? Chief of Staff Ron Klain?) as well as his state of mind and fitness to lead, a thought that the U.S. media won’t touch but which the foreign press already has.
And speaking of questions, it should surprise no one that neither Biden nor “President Harris” took questions after the speech:
Another day, another event where Joe Biden ignores reporters and their shouted questions.
This is one of the most sheltered presidencies of all time and we're only in March. pic.twitter.com/LD925JZTFD

What a way to instill confidence in your leadership – by referring to your second in command as president and by walking away (again) without answering a single question. Our adversaries overseas must be quaking in their boots (not).
