I know the term “state-run TV” has sometimes been used rather loosely even in conservative circles, but I’m not even playing when I say that CNN is without a doubt going to be the very personification of state-run TV in the event Joe Biden is certified the winner of the presidential election later this month. We’ve seen numerous previews of it since Election Day.
For example, there was the CNN segment where anchor Jake Tapper and his colleagues Dana Bash and Abby Phillip were fangirling over the thought of Kamala Harris becoming the first woman of color vice president. They were so giddy over the idea that they all but pushed Joe Biden out of the Oval Office in the process.
Also, there was CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter practically salivating over a possible “restoration of normal relations between the president and the press corps” after an interview he did with the Biden campaign’s national press secretary T.J. Ducklo.
There are many more examples where that came from, but we’ll skip right on to the latest one, which comes courtesy of CNN’s junior hall monitor Oliver Darcy.
When last we left you with Mr. Darcy, he was melting down over Fox News’ coverage of the explosive news about Rep. Eric Swalwell’s extensive and troubling China connections. He was, of course, complaining about how much coverage Fox News was giving the story because it was negative coverage about a Democrat Swalwell has not yet been formally accused of any wrongdoing.
In his most recent newsletter, however, Darcy took to complaining about overall media coverage of another scandal involving a Democrat, this time Joe Biden’s son Hunter. In Darcy’s warped mindset, the story that could potentially implicate the man who could be the next president of the United States was being blown out of proportion … because Orange Man Bad and stuff. Here’s what he actually wrote (bolded emphasis added):
“With the news cycle as chaotic as it has ever been, knowing what stories to focus on is as important as ever. Wednesday provided a great example of this, with Hunter Biden confirming he is being investigated for his taxes. CNN had been chasing this news and had asked for comment, which likely prompted the Biden camp to go public. Yes, the son of the president-elect being under federal investigation is a big story. There is no doubt about that. But is it a bigger story than the actual president trying to overturn the results of the US election? No, it’s not. Is it more important than the pandemic surging across the country killing thousands of people each week? No, it’s not. Covering the Hunter Biden story is important, but it should be in proportion.“

LOL! “In proportion” to media tools like Darcy equates to giving big stories like the Hunter Biden one obligatory “do we have to do this??” coverage but not so much coverage that it overshadows CNN’s ongoing smears and negative coverage of whichever Republican they happen to be targeting for cancelation at the time.
Also: Notice the similarities in Oliver’s complaints? They’re both about how Democrats are supposedly being treated unfairly by Fox News. Can you imagine him EVER writing a similar take if it was a rock-ribbed conservative Republican and staunch Trump supporter in the hot seat?
We’ve long known CNN were foot soldiers for Democrats, but they’ve really laid it all out there over the last couple of months. The bad news is that it’s not going to change. In fact, it will get much worse. The good news is that there’s no running and hiding from the accusations anymore. They’re everything conservatives have accused them of and more – and they know it.
