Six days after Tara Reade stepped forward with her sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden, my RedState colleague Bonchie wrote about how often the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN, and MSNBC had covered the former Biden Senate staffer’s disturbing claim involving an alleged rape she says happened in 1993.

The number, as shown from a Daily Wire analysis at the time, was zero – which stood in stark contrast to how often they had covered Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations against then-SCOTUS nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh in 2018:

Here we are exactly a month since that analysis was done. And while the NYT, the WaPo, and CNN eventually did cover the story – 3 weeks after it broke – and an official denial was made early on by the Biden campaign, there’s another aspect to the mainstream media’s “coverage” that remains sorely lacking: The number of times the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee has been asked about it directly in the numerous media interviews he’s done since Reade went public.

The answer? Zero, according to a Free Beacon analysis:

Joe Biden has now done 19 interviews spanning nearly 4 hours in the 5 weeks since March 24, the day a former staffer in his U.S. Senate office came forward to accuse him of sexual assault. None of the 142 questions asked by his interviewers have been on the allegations.

Biden, from a studio in the basement of his Delaware home, has been interviewed by reporters from major networks including CNN and MSNBC, as well as local stations across the country since Tara Reade’s allegation was reported by the Intercept in March. Biden has still not publicly commented on the accusation from Reade, who says the then-senator pinned her against a wall and penetrated her with his fingers in 1993 when she was a staff assistant in his office.

Even knowing what we know about where the media’s loyalties reside, this is still a pretty stunning indictment of their dereliction of duty to not only cover this story, but to go straight to the source for comment. The fact that the NYT and the WaPo are now demanding Biden publicly address the allegations well after they were made is not any point in their favor, either.

If this had been Trump, we’d have had wall to wall, non-stop 24-7 coverage and analyses, minute-by-minute social media updates, reporters camped out on the Rose Garden, etc. to get comment from every available administration official and Trump himself. But it’s Biden, and the MSM is in Must Protect the Precious mode, and so this is the result.

Shameful. Predictable, but shameful nonetheless.
