President Trump drew laughter during a press conference Monday morning, as he used an anecdote about an old friend who takes the "fat shot" to promote his executive order slashing the price of prescription drugs.

Trump announced the plan on Truth Social Sunday evening and signed the order earlier today. It is designed to "bring the prices Americans and taxpayers pay for prescription drugs in line with those paid by similar nations."

He later estimated the savings on drug prices would be around 59%.

An aside about an overweight businessman during his presser on the order prompted laughter as the President described someone using a popular weight loss drug in a manner only he can.

"I’ll tell you a story," Trump began. "A friend of mine who’s a businessman, very, very, very top guy. Most of you would have heard of him, a highly neurotic, brilliant businessman, seriously overweight, and he takes ... the fat shot drug."

The President went on to explain how his friend told him how he takes the "fat drug," to which the Donald replied, "It's not working."

Just had to throw that little jab in there. As I mentioned earlier, he's a comedic genius.

Trump proceeded to explain that his friend had paid "$88 in London" for the drug in question, but in New York, was "paying $1,300.”

Trump Announces One of 'Most Consequential Executive Orders' in US History to Tackle Big Pharma

Man, that's just ... rough. Trump's comments were reminiscent of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently poked fun at the expense of West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey (R) by casually suggesting he could stand to lose a few pounds.

"The first time I saw him, I said, 'You look like you ate Governor Morrisey,'" Kennedy said, eliciting laughter from the crowd as Morrisey sat just outside of camera view to his left.

He then shamed Governor Morrisey into accepting "a public weigh-in once a month" until he loses the excess weight.

Trump's comments were in reference to the highly popular GLP-1 fat loss drug, accusing pharmaceutical manufacturers of overcharging customers.

"The weight loss drug Ozempic costs ten times more in the United States than the rest of the developed world," he said. "Ten times more. Why? What did we do? Suckers."

Suckers no more.

The President went on to say he brought up his "seriously overweight" friend to certain drug companies to find out why the costs for Americans were so much higher in other civilized nations. And the companies essentially responded like a burglar being caught red-handed.

"We argued about it for about half (an) hour," Trump recalled. "And then finally he just said, because they can’t justify it, he just said, 'Look, you got me.'"

Trump's executive order turns the tables, keeping pharmaceutical manufacturers from charging Americans high drug prices while giving steep discounts to other wealthy nations.
