A new book claims that Kamala Harris and Donald Trump's concession call after the former Vice President's humiliating defeat was somewhat awkward.
Harris's aides had difficulty connecting the call, which might be a microcosm of how the country would have been run had she actually won. However, what Trump said to Harris once he was on the phone left an impression on the staff. A negative impression. And it's hilarious.
Chris Whipple, author of "Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History," which will be published on April 8th, reveals some behind-the-scenes action regarding the humbling phone call.
After fumbling the call transfer the day after the election, Harris finally got on the phone and spoke to Trump.
"Harris respectfully addressed the man she'd called a fascist and an existential threat to democracy," the author writes, according to excerpts obtained by the Daily Mail.

Whipple reveals that the President's end of the conversation is pretty much classic Trump. Able to separate the brutal grind of a political campaign and turn on the charm. And that's where it gets genuinely hilarious.
One of Kamala's aides was absolutely livid that Trump dared to be ... polite.
While Harris making the call was humiliating and awkward - she "'felt the weight of the crushing defeat" - Trump was in good spirits. While Harris was making comments about him needing to be a "President for all Americans," Trump sounded like Chris Farley in one of his SNL skits for "The Chris Farley Show."
"You're a tough cookie. You were really great. And that Doug - what a character! I love that guy," Trump reportedly said.
So shocked by his comments was one Harris aide that she described the soon-to-be President as a sociopath. His remarks, they contend, were "odd and inappropriate."
"I was like, what?" she recalled, according to the book. "Honestly, I felt like, what is this? It's so manipulative. He's a sociopath."

Wait. If Trump is a "sociopath" for being nice to Harris after pointing out how incompetent she would be as a President, what does that make Kamala for being cordial in the same phone call after spending weeks referring to him as a fascist with admiration for Adolf Hitler?
Please. Trump has long been viewed as a cutthroat businessman who, when the cameras aren't rolling, is as nice and charming a guy as you'll ever meet. It's who he is.
You only walk away from those comments thinking he's a sociopath if you, yourself, are a sociopath. Grow up.
Whipple's book should be fascinating. In previous RedState coverage, he provided insight into how Joe Biden's inner circle viewed their boss, knowing full well that his cognitive abilities were in severe decline.

Former Biden White House aide Ron Klain described Biden as "fatigued, befuddled, and disengaged" during debate prep. This is interesting because he was "fatigued, befuddled, and disengaged" during the actual debate, too.
Whipple contends that the White House staff cover-up of Biden's mental issues was worse than reported.
“I happen to think that to call it a ‘cover-up’ is simplistic. I think it was stranger and way more troubling than that," he told Politico. "Biden’s inner circle, his closest advisers, many of them were in a fog of delusion and denial. They believed what they wanted to believe.”
It was neither delusion nor denial. They knew exactly what they were doing.
