Bill Maher is issuing a stark warning to Democrats following their disastrous performance in the November elections, predicting they face extinction if they don't adapt to the needs of American voters.

Maher made the comments during an interview with Fox 11 anchor Elex Michaelson for "The Issue Is."

While noting that he supports increasing rights for allegedly marginalized people, the comedian suggested Democrats "don’t know when to stop."

"That’s what the message of the electorate was, you know, that the Democrats are all for the oppressed, and what the electorate was saying was, ‘You know what’s oppressing me? The price of eggs. Okay? That’s what’s oppressing me," Maher said.

The "Real Time with Bill Maher" host pointed out historic gains Donald Trump made with minorities in the 2024 presidential election, a sign that people were more concerned about their personal finances than whether or not the next administration was going to hire the next first black, female, lesbian who is left-handed.

He then cautioned the resistance party to temper their extremism and adapt or die.

"As of now, I don’t see it in the Democratic Party," Maher said of their potential pivot to sanity. "I see them still digging the hole deeper. But we’ll see."

"I think parties basically want to survive, as all organisms do, but the Democrats could go the way of the Whigs," he added. "You know, parties do die off when they don’t adapt."

From his lips to God's ears. If the Democrat party were to self-immolate, America would be better for it.

The Whig Party emerged in the early 1830s as a coalition opposing Andrew Jackson. They saw the rise of notable leaders like Henry Clay and William Henry Harrison and a handful of presidents, including John Tyler and Zachary Taylor.

Most would eventually realign with the newly formed Republican Party and its anti-slavery platform. The end of the Whigs as a national political force was complete by the late 1850s.

This isn't the first time Maher has admitted the Democrats went too far with their craziness.

"They just think the far-left has gone so nutty on so many issues," he told Jane Fonda on his "Club Random" podcast last month.

In another episode, Maher told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith that the Democrat Party had clearly become "ideologically captured by identity politics."

"And most Americans are just anti-crazy. Democrats run campaigns now like the voters don't live here, like they don't live here."

In the end, Maher told Michaelson that the party would eventually reel things in and continue somehow some way.

"As they say in Jurassic Park, life finds a way. But we’ll see. It’s up to them," he concluded.
