Kathy Griffin, who at times fancies herself a comedian, finally said something funny when she urged fans to go see her new show before President-elect Donald Trump places her in an "internment camp."
Griffin hyped her next appearance during an interview with Chicago’s WGN radio Tuesday afternoon.
“Come see me before I’m in one of those internment camps,” she half-joked.
Griffin went on to suggest she's on Trump's "enemies list" and suggested he's infatuated with her despite, to my knowledge, his not mentioning her name in years.
“I’m on the enemies list. That’s very obvious," she claimed. "He was very, very scared when I did a parody photo of him and a Halloween mask and a lot of ketchup. And he brings up my name every chance he gets.”
When you see things like this, remember, this is the way they really think because, if the roles were reversed, this is the way they would really act.

Griffin was promoting a New Year's Eve performance at the iconic Chicago Theater. While she's trying to be funny by brandishing her credentials as an edgy comic on the soon-to-be president's radar, later comments in the interview suggest she's also mostly serious.
“At the time, you know, most of us just thought he was kind of a harmless buffoon, but when he says he’s going to build camps for his enemies list, he may not be kidding," she said, recalling having known Trump for many years prior to his first term.
"So, you know, I’ve got my antenna up, but I’m not going anywhere. I have four doggies. I have a great group of friends. And I love it here."
Trump, of course, has never stated he would build camps for his political enemies. Like much of what goes on in Griffin's head, it is little more than a figment of imagination.
Which makes her "internment camps" comment unintentionally hilarious.

Griffin has struggled mightily with the fact that America elected Donald Trump in 2016, and she hasn't seemed to recover.
The comedienne revealed last year that she has been diagnosed with “complex PTSD.”
She linked that diagnosis to her very public downfall following an ill-advised stunt featuring her holding a replica of Trump’s severed bloody head.
The stunt was widely criticized when it came to light in 2017, with Griffin posting the graphic and shocking image as if it would be received as a humorous joke. It wasn't.
Here we are years later, and things appear to still be sketchy when it comes to her mental health. The "My Life on the D-List" star posted a video after Trump defeated Kamala Harris, and it was as unhinged as you might expect.

Griffin claimed America was now slow-rolling its way into a dictatorship and suggested a second term under Trump would mean "gays ... may not be safe."
She urged folks who might be feeling the same way to "gather support" and "if you’re afraid to walk down the street, get more politically active.”
Griffin clearly isn't joking in that video.
