Mom and Daughter Reveal Off the Rails Moment They Were Told to Cover Up XX-XY Shirts at WNBA Game

How crazy has the transgender debate gotten?

The Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham got all kinds of backlash for simply stating she didn't think biological men should be playing in women's sports. Then the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) can't seem to figure out what a woman is. They met to have a discussion about how to address the question but haven't reached a decision yet.

What happened at the Atlanta Dream game with the Indiana Fever is one example of how off the rails it's gotten.

Georgia locals, Kasey Thomason, and her daughter, Annie, bought tickets just two rows back from courtside. They each wore an XX-XY Athletics T-shirt to support Sophie Cunningham and the ongoing fight to keep women’s sports and spaces female. Kasey wore an XX-XY shirt with the letters in stars and stripes, while Annie wore a Riley Gaines collaborative piece with "XX" on the front and "For the Girls" on the back.

But then, they were approached by a security guard during the overtime period.

The security guard told them that a fan(s) were offended by their shirts, so they had the choice to wear the provided Atlanta Dream "Wellness & Health Night" shirts, or they would be escorted out of the building. To this, Kasey responded by saying, "Biology and science is offensive?", before reluctantly agreeing to put the shirts on so they didn’t miss the last two minutes of overtime, where the Indiana Fever eventually secured a 95-91 victory.

What was "offensive" about any of that?

Outkick's Jon Root called that out as discrimination.

BREAKING: A local Georgia mom & daughter were discriminated against at Sunday’s Fever vs Dream game for wearing @xx_xyathletics shirts

During OT, a security guard told them they had to put provided Atlanta Dream shirts over their shirts or they would be escorted out…

This is unacceptable @AtlantaDream

YouTuber Adam Francisco interviewed the women who couldn't believe that they were made to cover up their shirts.

Warning for graphic language:

They spoke about another woman who had a "protect trans rights" shirt that showed on the jumbotron. They thought that because she was made to zip up her jacket, they were made to put on the T-shirts. But they indicated they thought her having to cover her shirt up was wrong, as well.

People thought this incident showed the situation was reaching "peak stupidity" now.

Jennifer Sey, founder of XX-XY Athletics, put the Atlanta Dream on blast: "What's up with that?"

She also termed it the "T-shirt of the resistance," and said that she would be attending a game in New York with a group who would be wearing the shirts.

The WNBA and its teams just seem to keep stepping in it with how they handle things.
