Iran seems to keep miscalculating and making moves, thinking they're going to have one result when they have another.
For example, attacking their Gulf State neighbors, thinking that would force them to put pressure on the U.S. and Israel to stop. Instead, it's convinced them that Iran is an existential threat to them as well.
But now firing two, intermediate-range ballistic missiles toward the U.S./U.K. base on Diego Garcia has put that threat into sharp focus, and showed that President Donald Trump was right to be concerned. It lends more support to the decision to launch Operation Epic Fury, also.

In case anyone wondered about why Trump and the U.S. properly didn't trust Iran, let's check out this huge lie from their Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi.
TRUMP: They've already developed missiles that can threaten Europe and our bases overseas, and they're working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States of America.

🇮🇷 ARAGHCHI 🤥 This claim is not true and is actually misinformation.
We have the capability to… pic.twitter.com/AbJFJbG1Bu
"They've already developed missiles that can threaten Europe and our bases overseas, and they're working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States of America," Trump said during his State of the Union speech in Feb.
Araghchi denied that in a comment to NBC, "This is not true and is in fact misinformation."
We have capability to produce missiles, but we have intentionally limited ourselves to below two thousand kilometers of range because we don't want to be felt as a threat by anyone else in the world. Uh, we have not started any program to increase the range of our missiles more than what it is right now. So there is no evidence, there is no intelligence, nothing to to indicate that Iran is going to long-range missiles; let alone let alone those missiles that can reach the United States.
Ahem.
Speaks for itself:

They do have missiles beyond what they claimed, and those can hit Europe and go way beyond just their neighbors. You can check out this analyst's assessment of just how far Iran may have progressed in their missile development.
Of course, Iran is also trying to justify attacking their Gulf neighbors, while claiming they're only attacking U.S. bases, as they hit all kinds of civilian targets, including oil installations. That's a similarly ridiculous story, and it's infuriating the Gulf States against Iran. Saudi Arabia has already said it will now be letting the U.S. use one of its air bases.
Saudi Arabia agreed to open King Fahd Air Base in Taif, in Western Saudi Arabia, to the Americans, multiple US and western officials familiar with the matter told Middle East Eye. [....]
“The attitude in Riyadh has shifted towards supporting the US war as a way to punish Iran for strikes,” a western official in the Gulf told MEE.
So they just nailed themselves completely.
Editor's Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
