There were some great moments between Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and President Donald Trump during their meetings and dinner on Thursday.
They worked on the question of resolving any issues in the Strait of Hormuz. Japan signed onto the allies' coalition statement issued earlier in the day.
The relationship is certainly blooming well. Takaichi confirmed that with a gift of 250 more cherry trees to the U.S. for our 250th birthday. The cherry trees from Japan in D.C. are famous and beautiful.
Takaichi praised their bond, saying how they were "best buddies" to make both countries strong and prosperous. She showed that when at the start of the day, she greeted him with an enthusiastic hug, rather than just a handshake.

There was also another moment that showed how she gets Trump's humor. Her reaction to the Biden autopen picture on the White House wall was epic, and likely resulted in instant memes.

You know Trump had to love that reaction.
But Trump also brought home the bacon in the meeting. All these deals that he works on are about greater national security and jobs for Americans. This one was great.
Japan pledged to invest $73 billion in American next-generation nuclear reactor and gas-fired power plant projects Thursday after Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s White House meeting with President Trump.
The investment marks the start of the second phase of Japan’s $550 billion spending commitment on American projects, which Trump secured through a massive trade agreement last summer after threatening the US ally with 25% tariffs.
The latest batch of investment will see Japan spend $40 billion on the construction of small modular reactors (SMRs) by GE Vernova Hitachi in Tennessee and Alabama; $17 billion on natural gas generation facilities in Pennsylvania; and $16 billion on natural gas generation facilities in Texas.
So not only does that do more to help secure our own energy independence, but it also results in many more jobs for Americans. That's on top of what they had already committed to do.
Japan had previously announced that it would invest $36 billion for a natural gas plant in Ohio, a crude oil export facility along the US Gulf Coast and a synthetic diamond manufacturing site in Georgia as part of the first batch of spending under the trade agreement framework.
Trump said that the U.S. would receive 90 percent of the profits from the $550 billion dollar deal. You can see more of the things they are working on cooperatively here.

Liberal media, of course, don't highlight these big results; they don't want to recognize how Trump is benefiting the country and the American people.
