That investigation of Minnesota officials over their incitement against ICE is heating up.
The Department of Justice just served subpoenas on Minnesota Democratic officials, including the offices of Gov. Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

Sources told Fox News that the Department of Justice served grand jury subpoenas on Tuesday to five Minnesota government offices — including the Governor’s Office, the Attorney General’s office and the Minneapolis Mayor’s Office – as part of a federal investigation into alleged conspiracy to coerce or obstruct federal law enforcement during ongoing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minnesota.
Fox indicated that the subpoenas were seeking communications on the issue. This could provide valuable information in the cases and put those officials in trouble if they show problematic incitement of the agitators.
We'd already reported how Frey and Walz were under investigation by the DOJ.

As we reported, Ellison gave an incredible take on the anti-ICE people who stormed a Minnesota church, suggesting that this was just an exercise of the First Amendment that people had to put up with. That's a stunningly bad interpretation from a state attorney general.
MN Attorney General Keith Ellison: "The FACE Act is designed to protect the rights of people seeking reproductive rights... How they are stretching these laws to people protesting in a church is beyond me."

The FACE Act specifically says that you can't use intimidation to interfere with one's religious freedom in a place of worship.
Does he not understand the FACE Act? Or is he just spewing in agreement with the position? Either way, a very bad look for an attorney general.
The greater problem is the effort by state and local officials to stand in the way of the enforcement of federal law. That's what the subpoenas will be plumbing. We already reported on how a city email revealed that they were allegedly involved in ICE tracking.
One has to imagine Tim Walz and Jacob Frey fuming at this point, and it couldn't happen to more deserving fellows. Sounds like Walz is already melting down.

How about just not impeding the law? It's very simple. You're not protecting the people of your state when you are standing in the way of the enforcement of the statutes.
This has to be stopped. It isn't protesting when agitators are attacking and impeding federal agents. It isn't protesting when they are harassing random people on the street. It isn't protesting when they're trashing cars that they think belong to ICE.
