ABC News' George Stephanopoulos had Walmart CEO John Furner on to speak to prices as we head toward Thanksgiving.
As our sister site Townhall observed, Stephanopoulos was a longtime Democratic operative who worked for the Clinton administration, so he clearly had a narrative he was trying to present in the interview. He claimed food prices were up, "especially turkeys."
But Furner poured cold water on him. He didn't give George what he wanted. Furner describes how the turkey prices are "all the way back to what they were in 2019." Whoops, pre-Joe Biden, back to the first Trump term. And that's using Butterball turkeys.

First, Stephanopoulos tried to argue turkey prices are way up, but Furner replied Walmart’s turkeys will be their… pic.twitter.com/mI6acOdNQ6
Plus, the price for their turkey basket is down about 25 percent from last year, he said, working out to about $4 per person, serving ten people. He said it was "better than I expected."
So why isn't George thanking Trump and Walmart for that?
Stephanopoulos tried again, claiming that President Donald Trump's tariffs were contributing to higher prices. Again, Furner didn't give him what he wanted.
ABC’s George Stephanopoulos then tried to have Walmart U.S. CEO John Furner bash President Trump as harming the economy with his tariffs.

Furner again disagreed, saying “two-thirds of what we sell is either made, grown, or assembled in the United States” and they currently “have… pic.twitter.com/BGz7l2EoeH
Furner said that about two-thirds of what they sell is made, grown, or assembled in the U.S., [so it wouldn't be affected by tariffs], and they have been able to have 7,000 items on rollback pricing. That's another blow to the narrative.
George tried one more time, but Furner repeated the things that were down from last year, and how they were rolling prices back.
Stephanopoulos tried one last time to have the Walmart U.S. CEO John Furner attack the Trump administration, arguing Americans “are tightening their belts right now, borrowing more to pay bills, falling behind on credit card payments,” and wondered if that’s affected the company.… pic.twitter.com/7VOAYT71bG

This even got Fox's Brian Kilmeade and former House member from Michigan, Mike Rogers, commenting.
He’s obsessed with destroying @realDonaldTrump and keeps losing. https://t.co/kD0Opehzv1

Once again, the liberal media is more interested in trying to prove President Trump wrong than reporting the facts.

Remember when they screamed about the egg prices? Why aren't they screaming about that anymore? Because this is what the egg prices look like now after Trump focused on bringing them down.

Egg Prices have now collapsed 86% since the start of March 🥚🐔📉 pic.twitter.com/fdXLkN2ka3
I buy the 60 egg box from Walmart that was $11.12 last week. It is now $9.56 here in Texas.

Then too, as we reported, gas prices are also down, with 35 states having an average below $3.00.
That could spur even more reductions in cost.
