Yikes: AOC Threatens Trump Officials If They Arrest House Dems Over Newark ICE Facility Incident

The Democrats are not only getting themselves into political trouble with their embrace of illegal aliens, but they're also getting themselves into potential legal trouble as well.

The Department of Homeland Security is investigating last Friday's actions at the ICE detention facility in Newark. They said they have not ruled out making more arrests. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested for trespassing during the chaos on Friday when he, the other Democrats, and protesters tried to get into the facility. Three House Democrats, Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez Jr, and LaMonica McIver were involved in the chaos.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) threw a fit about the possibility that the House Democrats might face arrest. AOC claimed DHS was "using public intimidation" because "they know that they cannot come for us all." Oh, please.

Yes, AOC, pro tip? If you break the law, you don't get a pass for being a Democrat member of Congress, even if Democrats think you do. This is such ridiculous performance theater acting like they were the ones put upon or treated wrongly.

AOC claimed, "If anyone is breaking the law in this situation, it's not members of Congress, it's the Department of Homeland Security, it's people like Tom Homan and Secretary Kristi Noem."

She then threatened the Trump officials, raising her finger and pointing, "You lay a finger on someone, on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, on Representative...on any of the other representatives that were there, you lay a finger on them, we are going to have a problem."

No, the problem is you throwing around your power. What is she saying with these remarks? What is she planning on doing in response? It sounds like a threat. It sounds like an effort to intimidate government officials into not acting, and that's concerning. Yes, the House members have oversight, but that doesn't mean they can break the law. Not to mention that the other people, Baraka and the other protesters, don't have "oversight."

AOC probably thinks this is burnishing her credibility with the left if she wants to run for president in 2028 in what is likely to be a crowded field. She hasn't said yet if she intends to run. But if we listen to her compatriot Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), donors are already getting behind a white male and might skip around AOC. So she's likely not to be a happy camper about that.

Remarks like this sink AOC with everyone other than the far left. Democrats think this is "fighting back" against President Donald Trump. But it's Trump and ICE who are enforcing the law and doing what the American people want. Most voters look at this and can't believe what Democrats are doing here with illegal aliens, and it just adds to how extreme Americans think they are.

The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
