DHS Delivers Perfect Response to Dems' Claims That They Did 'Nothing' at ICE Facility

New Jersey Reps. LaMonica McIver, Robert Menendez Jr, and Bonnie Watson Coleman went on CNN to plead their case as to what happened during the wild chaos at the Newark ICE facility. They claimed they had done nothing, that they were assaulted.

McIver also responded to accusations from the Department of Homeland Security that she "body slammed" law enforcement officers during the incident.
"I honestly do not know how to body slam anyone. There's no video that supports me body slamming anyone," she told CNN's Dana Bash.

Of course, the problem is that you can see even in the video that CNN showed, McIver elbowing her way through a federal agent. So whatever name you choose to call that, yes, they have video.

Throughout the incident, you can also see the Democrats yelling, while agents are trying to de-escalate and calm them down. Menendez claims the agents didn't try to de-escalate, which is false. Menendez also claimed they were "wearing no identification" when you can see "HSI," "ICE," or "Police" labeling on the agents. He said this should "shock all Americans."

Yes, I'm shocked that Democrats have escalated things to this level. And it should be the responsibility of lawmakers not to escalate, to frankly not create such a situation to begin with. Some protesters even tried to follow them through the gate. You can see federal agents actually trying to protect Rep. Watson Coleman; that's how much they were trying to de-escalate.

So the Democrats' argument was just nonsense.

The tape not only shows the elbowing through the agent, but another incident at about 21 seconds in the clip, with McIver's fist going into the shoulder of an agent. After that, it looks like Menendez is trying to hold her arm, as you see his arm, and hers, flying around. Might be interesting to put him under oath and ask him what he was doing there.

DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told CNN on Saturday that the department is “actively investigating” the lawmakers and that arrests are “definitely on the table.” So these Democrats may still have to lawyer up and face charges.
