Here's That KJP Audio 'Explanation' of the Pardon We Said Would Be Coming - It's As Bad As You'd Think

Joe Biden announced he was granting his son a pardon on Sunday that would cover anything he did that might qualify as a federal crime for the last 11 years -- from Jan. 1, 2014, to Dec. 1, 2024.

In some measure, it tells you in Biden's mind that he had something to be concerned about beyond the crimes that Hunter pled guilty to or was convicted of. Not to mention, it wasn't just about Hunter; Joe was likely hoping it ended the inquiry into the allegations that could involve him. That's what made the pardon doubly disturbing.

On top of that, Joe Biden dropped the news on a holiday weekend, right before he was flying out of the country, likely hoping to get as little attention as possible. I think he failed at that. Then also, they wouldn't have to answer up and justify his action publicly before the whole White House press corps at a Monday briefing at the WH because they were going to be out of the country, as Fox's Jacqui Heinrich explained. How convenient.

Heinrich explained that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would answer questions on the plane, but you wouldn't be able to see her being cornered.

Could those statements be seen as a lie, a reporter asked, given all they said before, and doesn't that mean there's a credibility problem?

Jean-Pierre insisted that "one of the things" Biden always believes "is to be truthful to the American people." She asked people to read the statement Biden released where he said he believed in being truthful.

Unreal, he's "truthful." How do we know that? He says he is -- as he lies to our faces. They really expect us to buy that.

She refused to answer if he had spoken with Hunter about it over the weekend, just insisting that Biden made the decision this weekend, not before.

One reporter asked a great question: Did Joe Biden now agree with Trump about the weaponization of the justice system and that it needed reform (since he claimed selective prosecution of Hunter)? She said no, even as she reiterated that Biden thought politics infected the process.

A reporter then asked about anticipated pardons by Trump for some of the Jan. 6 defendants. KJP claimed, "What is unprecedented is the way that his son was singled out."

Jean-Pierre refused to answer if the pardon would have happened if Kamala Harris hadn't lost.

If Harris had won, she probably would have pardoned him so he could say he kept his word, with her doing the dirty work.

This was the best part at the end when a reporter said Biden was admitting his own DOJ was broken.

KJP insisted he believed in the DOJ, but the reporter said his own pardon argued that it was infected with politics. How deep was the rot, how many selective prosecutions were there? She refused to answer that.

She's a horrible press secretary, but then again, nobody could square this circle of dissonance.

There was no way that she was going to be able to justify it or make it make sense.
