In the wake of Joe Biden giving his son an incredibly expansive, blanket pardon -- for anything that Hunter may have done for 11 years, including during the time that Biden has been occupying the Oval Office -- it's hard to forget how often that the White House lied to us about this.
Over and over and over again, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre insisted that Biden would not pardon his son, that it wasn't going to be on the table.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has repeatedly said Joe Biden would not pardon his son, Hunter.

Joe Biden, who said he wouldn’t do so, has just pardoned his son, Hunter.
Pathological liar lied again!!

Now we know that it was still reportedly being discussed behind the scenes, according to NBC News -- even as they were denying it to us.
The president has discussed pardoning his son with some of his closest aides at least since Hunter Biden’s conviction in June, said two people with direct knowledge of the discussions about the matter. They said it was decided at the time that he would publicly say he would not pardon his son even though doing so remained on the table.
George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley called that out and otherwise blasted the pardon.

So you know what many on the right thought? How is Karine Jean-Pierre going to deal with this at the White House briefing? This time, it won't only be Peter Doocy holding her feet to the fire; she's likely to get blasted by the whole press corps for lying to them.
But it looks like the White House is going to try to avoid the public briefing for a few days, according to Fox's Jacqui Heinrich.
There won’t be any - no press briefing for the next few days. Biden issued the pardon before jetting to Angola late tonight. KJP will take questions on Air Force 1 en route, but off-camera…. https://t.co/rdGpucifc0

She said there wouldn't be any press briefing for the next few days, and he would be going to Angola. Unbelievable, he's actually leaving the country as this is all imploding.
Heinrich said while KJP would take questions, it wouldn't be on camera. So she wouldn't be held to account publicly before the whole world, at least not until the get back and have time to come up with some kind of an excuse to justify it. They're not going to be able to hide forever. Then bet on it: it's going to center around the President-elect Donald Trump and how evil he is, so they had to do it. And Joe is likely to lose it on the first reporter who actually pushes him on the question.
