We've seen a lot of twisted reactions calling for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas, including protests like those in New York City, where people chanted in support of Hamas.
We saw an unbelievably awful response from the UN — that organization that's supposed to be about bringing people together — that showed again it's about anything but with a couple of its resolutions last week. The juxtaposition of the results of those resolutions was jarring. First, they failed to pass a resolution condemning the Hamas attack on Israel. So that couldn't get the two-thirds vote required to pass. Yet they did pass a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, basically declaring that Israel doesn't have a right to defend itself, with an overwhelming majority,
Defund the UN.

PS They won’t condemn Hamas. pic.twitter.com/hhAOmvpNl1
How can you claim any credibility and not condemn Hamas? How hard is it to get this right?
The UN hypocrisy in one picture.

It passed a resolution calling for a ceasefire (that's what Hamas wants), but it FAILED to condemn Hamas' massacre of Jewish civilians in Israel. #UnitedNothing pic.twitter.com/id3BIVr8U0
But this is not surprising, given that the UN has been Israel and U.S.-hating for decades, despite the fact that they exist largely on our money.
It's troubling to see so many on the left in this country who are pushing for a ceasefire. One who is surprisingly getting this issue right is Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), who seems to be standing on his position against the ceasefire, even when confronted by leftists.
But I'm about to say something else I never thought I'd say: Hillary Clinton is also right. This is so on target.

"People who are calling for a ceasefire now do not understand Hamas, that is not possible. It would be such a gift to Hamas because they would spend whatever time there was a ceasefire in effect rebuilding their armaments, creating stronger positions to be able to fend off an eventual assault by the Israelis.
So we're in a very different world. I don't think it had to be the world that we're in, but that's where we are. And we have to figure out way forward through it."
That is exactly on target. And what makes it even better is she's implicitly throwing her fellow Democrats, like the Squad members, under the bus.
Calling for a ceasefire saves the terrorists from being taken out. The only reason one would ever call for a ceasefire is if all the terrorists were completely eliminated/neutralized and there was no more prospect of attacks. Even now, Hamas is still threatening, firing rockets, and holding hostages.
If we listened to the left and the UN, how many ceasefires should Hamas get? They've already had plenty, and they've all failed because Hamas refuses to give up trying to wipe out Israel.
Let's look at Joe Biden after a ceasefire he trumpeted and bragged about in May 2021.
May, 2021. Biden announces that his team negotiated a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

He brags that his ceasefire only took 11 days to negotiate as opposed to Trump's which took 56.
He promises aid to rebuild Gaza and promises to not allow Hamas to restock their weapons. pic.twitter.com/oeLPyn8Xyx
He just gave them more time to restock their arms for the next attack. Even then, he was fixated on aid to Gaza. And he helped Hamas by continuing to provide aid and making deals for billions with Iran. What we're seeing now is a result of not just a failure of understanding and action by Biden but empowering the terrorists.
They just had another ceasefire in May of this year. How'd that work out?
There have been a slew of other ceasefires as well, all of which failed.
At what point do you say enough is enough when someone is trying to break down your door and kill you, and with this attack, managed to kill a lot of you?
Even now, the ceasefire activists don't demand that Hamas stop firing on Israel or give back the hostages first. They don't demand that Hamas care about their people in Gaza. The activists demand that the victims, the Israelis, care about the enemy's people. When have attacked victims ever had to be stopped or restricted, fighting a war with their hands tied behind their backs? Israel isn't the one targeting civilians; that's Hamas.
