Jonathan Turley Demands Answers After Durham Report Exposes Schiff Lie

The Durham Report has come out now and it’s confirmed what we’ve known for a long time: that the Russia collusion investigation was a massive hoax, based on nothing. It should be shocking that the FBI proceeded with this investigation when there was no evidence, for years, which then had the effect of smearing Donald Trump for years. Meanwhile, the Durham Report also showed that the Obama/Biden team was fully aware of the Clinton plan to smear Trump.

The AP tried to dismiss this as not the “crime of the century” that Donald Trump termed it. But whether or not anyone is ever held accountable, it is hard to get around that indeed nothing like this has been done before, or that it was so damaging and divisive to our nation. What’s criminal is that it appears people might get away with it. But that doesn’t mean that it wasn’t the “crime of the century” — that just means people haven’t been properly held to account.

There’s so much wrongdoing involved in all of this. But let’s point out one big lie that we always knew was a lie — which the report confirms.

Remember when Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) — then the Chair of the House Intelligence Committee — claimed he had seen evidence that he couldn’t share with us demonstrating Russia collusion? Now that the Report says there was nothing, where is Adam’s evidence?

George Washington Law professor Jonathan Turley is demanding some answers from Schiff.

“Given Durham’s findings that there was no basis for the actions taken by the FBI in launching this investigation, this would be a good time for former House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff to reveal that evidence he said showed the Russian collusion,” Turley declared.

Let us recall some of the many, many times Schiff claimed there was “evidence of collusion.”

So where’s that evidence, Adam? There was no evidence, yet this shameless character tried to buffalo Americans for years on this. We’re only fortunate now with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) that Schiff was finally booted from the Intel Committee. But this is only after so many years of damage.

Not only did Schiff lie about it, but as Turley notes, Schiff was also trying to shoot down the Durham investigation.

Schiff told MSNBC that ongoing investigations would constitute “tearing down our democracy” and would serve as a way to “delegitimize” a president. This also included any continued investigation of the Hunter Biden scandal. Schiff denounced the Durham investigation as a “politically motivated” effort despite the fact that Durham suspended any public actions before the election to avoid even the appearance of political manipulation. He resisted demands from Trump to issue a report before the election.

Schiff raised the termination of the Durham investigation by Attorney General Garland before Durham could issue any indictments or reports. He added “The appointment is not consistent with the language of the statute that he’s relying on and can be rescinded, I think, by the next attorney general. I would presume the next attorney general will look to see if there is any merit to the work that John Durham is doing.”

Doubtless because among other things, the investigation would find out that Russia collusion was all nonsense and that everything Schiff had been saying was a lie, as it did on Monday.

Schiff needs to answer up.
