Joe Biden got another horrible jobs report yesterday.
Indeed, it was the worst of the year, even according to CNN. But that didn’t stop Biden from spinning it as some kind of a triumph of his “plans.” It’s like he’s living in a complete fantasy land, divorced from the truth, even complete with his own stage to present the picture he wants to present — not actual reality.
Biden still has Americans and Afghan allies trapped in Afghanistan with no plan, nor seeming care to address what’s happening with those people, including kids from California. Inflation is spiraling out of control, and predictions are that there will be 400,000 migrants illegally encountered at the border this month, nearly twice what it was in August. Biden’s plan to deal with it? Zilch. His legislative agenda, at least for now, has gone down in flames because of Democratic division with Democrats sniping at each other.
But, national media seems to have moved on and aren’t holding him to account for any of this.
So, what is Biden doing about it all? After he delivered his effort to spin the jobs report Friday, he headed off to Delaware yet again for his continuing, weekend vacations. He actually left a little later than he usually does, leaving at 6:15 p.m., rather than earlier in the day.
Former CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller had the count, noting this is Biden’s 24th trip to Delaware, which would be totaling all or part of 66 days, if he flies back on Monday. Knoller detailed how Biden has now spent 29 weekends away from the White House, including 19 in Wilmington or at Rehoboth Beach, 10 at Camp David, and one overseas at the G7.
He’s only spent eight weekends at the White House.
By my count, this is Biden’s 24th trip to Delaware as President.
Brings his weekend count to:
-19 weekends in Delaware
-10 at Camp David
-8 at the White House
-1 overseas/G7 in England— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) October 8, 2021
Even NPR, not a conservative outlet, noted back in August that he spent twice as many weekends in Delaware.
As White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has also acknowledged, they refuse to report with whom he is meeting with when he’s in Delaware. So much for the promised transparency from Biden. There’s a whole block of his time in office about which we have no idea what he’s doing or who he’s meeting with, because they refuse to say. And often, as we saw right when Afghanistan fell, they’re long weekends, not just two days but extending over four or five days.
Even when he’s in the White House, he’s often calling early lids, making remarks and then running out of the room, or refusing to answer questions, with his people pushing the reporters to get out. Reporters should have known that was coming, since he spent most of his campaign hiding out in his basement.
What we have here is someone who is hiding out from the most powerful job in the world. Which may explain why he’s doing such an awful job of it.
