Despite the fact that there’s abundant evidence that it’s been Democrats and folks on the left who’ve been pushing to defund the police for the past year, Jen Psaki and other members of the Biden team can’t stop lying. Two days ago, Psaki claimed it was really the GOP who was defunding the police because they voted against Joe Biden’s bloated American Rescue Plan. It’s not even a question it was Democrats, but it shows how willing they are to twist reality, as though no one would remember the whole past year.

But the Biden team’s internal polling must be giving them very bad numbers showing the Democrats are, rightfully, getting tagged with it. So Psaki was back at it today, still trying to make the same claim despite getting decimated on it over the past two days.

Fox’s Peter Doocy busts her very simply. He asks her plainly, “Which Republican ever told you they didn’t support the American Rescue Plan because they wanted to defund the police?” The answer is no one. Not one Republican has ever called for defunding the police. But there have been many Democrats who have said it, tried it, and pulled funding/services from the police.

Psaki went all in, yet again, on the crazy claim, arguing that Joe Biden ran on a promise to fund the police and that Republicans tried to cut funding for the COPs program. Sure, that’s why he embraced the BLM at the Democratic National Convention. That’s why he wouldn’t even condemn them by name and still hasn’t.

Psaki then tried something even slimier. She said Republicans not passing the Democrats’ bloated bill is the reason that some cities laid off police and there was a rise in crime. There it is, what this is all about. The Democrats know they’re getting tagged, justifiably so, with the rise in crime. That’s why they’re so desperate to spin. The rise in crime is something that resonates with the American people. They see what’s happening and they’re not liking it. And in these Democratic cities, the reason some police were laid off or police services were cut was because local Democrats, often pushed by the BLM, were acceding to far leftist demands. But Psaki is hoping they can somehow spin this away from Democrats.

Peter Doocy wasn’t letting her get away with it either, calling her out with examples of Democrats who had called for defunding – Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). “Actions are more important than words,” she huffed, making no sense since there have been plenty of Democratic “actions” to defund the police in addition to their words. Doocy also pointed out how Republicans voted against the American Rescue Plan because of the government overreach not because of anything to do with the police who Republicans have always supported more than Democrats have.

Psaki can spin all she wants. But Americans have seen everything for the past year and they know who to fully blame for all this and it isn’t Republicans.
