Squad Member Goes Completely Around the Bend, Blames Israel for Being Attacked by Hamas

How far over the line are the Squad?

Some of them have made crazy anti-Israel statements about the fighting now going on in Gaza. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) even called Israel an “apartheid state.” The Squad has been responsible for pushing the Democrats further left on the whole issue.

But Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) went completely around the bend today, blaming Israel for being attacking by the Hamas terrorists.

According to Fox, she appeared on CNN with Jake Tapper. Tapper asked her what she thought Israel should do in response to “Hamas firing rockets indiscriminately at Israeli civilians.”

Jayapal avoided answering the question, but then blamed Israel for Hamas’ attack: “We condemn Hamas’ firing of those rockets, but I think you have to look at what prompted even that behavior.” She then suggested that “annexation” or “evictions” was somehow something that could “prompt” rockets killing Israeli civilians.

“This has been a pattern of action from Israel that frankly has taken away the idea even of a two-state solution, and has led to increased hopelessness from the Palestinian people,” Jayapal said. “I think what Hamas has done is — obviously we condemn that — but we have to look at the power balance here, or imbalance as it were, and we have to put more responsibility on Israel in maintaining peace in the region.”

“When you look at the indiscriminate bombing that has been happening, the disproportionate loss of lives, of Palestinians … We have to do everything we can as the United States to work towards a cease-fire, not just call for a cease-fire, utilize the U.N,” she said.

The “indiscriminate bombing” is coming from Hamas, the folks Jayapal is defending. Of the Palestinians killed, many are killed by that Hamas indiscriminate bombing when their rockets fail and fall short. Not to mention the Palestinians killed because Hamas was using them as human shields. The “power balance” is that Israel is operating according to rules and Hamas isn’t, plus they have the assistance of the American left, like Jayapal, to push their propaganda for them.

Jayapal criticized Biden for blocking the U.N. call for a ceasefire, saying it may have “emboldened Netanyahu even more” as though Netanyahu were in the wrong here in defending Israel from terrorists. “I think Benjamin Netanyahu thinks that Joe Biden is going to stand by him, and I think we have to quickly reverse that idea,” Jayapal said, making it clear she wanted the U.S. to throw Israel under the bus.

Jayapal claims she’s “condemning” the attacks at the same time she’s trying to justify them. Meanwhile, Tapper does absolutely no pushback on the multiple falsehoods in her rant.

But she makes it clear that the progressives are doing all they can to stop support for Israel from Joe Biden and unfortunately, it seems like they are making headway.
